  • Azerbaijani Communications Ministry prepares to create a single mobile government system

    The Ministry of Communications & IT is preparing to introduce a single system of mobile government (m-government).

    Informed sources say that the system is provided in order to improve access to state e-services and promotion of the use of digital signature in the country.

    "This system will enable to use electronic digital signatures of the subscribers of mobile operators that will expand much the range of access to state e-services and the use of digital signature," the source emphasized.

  • Azerbaijani domain zone grows by 18 percent

    Internet technologies are developing with great speed in the world and this is also observed in today’s Azerbaijan. The number of websites, both of business and non-profit purposes, is increasing in the country.

    As many as 28,986 Internet resources are registered in the national domain zone “.az”, the WHOIS resource informs. By the end of 2017, the growth in the number of registered Internet resources in the “.az” domain zone amounted to 18 percent.

  • Azerbaijani e-government portal begins rendering e-services to citizens of foreign countries

    Today, along with the citizens of our country, e-government portal creates conditions for the provision of e-services to citizens of foreign countries, the Azerbaijani Communication and IT Ministry told Trend today.

    Thus, a new section called "Non-resident" has been added to e-government portal (www.e-gov.az). Initially, three government agencies the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Committee for Work with Diaspora, as well as State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs have placed their electronic services in "Non-resident section", the ministry said.

  • Azerbaijani e-signature resilient to cyberattacks - deputy minister

    The dependence of Azerbaijani e-signature [SIMA] on cloud technologies increases its resilience to cyberattacks, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rovshan Rustamov told Russian media, Trend reports.

    According to Rustamov, since the non-personalized signing key doesn’t contain any information, there is no way for criminals to gain access to personal information during cyberattacks.

  • Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry joins e-government portal

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has joined the e-government portal, the Information Computing Centre (ICC) of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan told Trend on Thursday.

    As the ICC said, currently the Foreign Ministry's e-service on reception of documents and applications for accreditation of foreign media journalists is integrated into the portal. The service is designed for international media representatives who will be able to pre-submit documents required for accreditation at the Foreign Ministry. The service is provided free of charge.

  • Azerbaijani government agencies are offering about 300 kinds of e-services to the citizens

    150 of these services are interactive,” sector chief of Presidential Administration Vugar Aliyev said addressing the seminar on the theme “Effective Interaction between Government Spokespersons and Journalists to Promote Public Access to Information”, APA reports.

    He said to ensure transparency in the society and freedom of media is one of the top priorities of the state.

  • Azerbaijani IT company presents tax administration modernization project in Kyrgyzstan

    "e-Government creation experience based on example of Azerbaijani IT company SINAM's tax administration modernization project (ITAS) and technological innovations of Oracle information technologies" conference was held in Bishkek, the company said today.

    According to the Information Policy Department of Kyrgyz Government, representatives of presidential apparatus, parliament, government, donor community, banks and other institutions and companies were invited to participate at the conference.

  • Azerbaijani Justice Ministry extends e-services via electronic kiosks

    The Azerbaijani Ministry of Justice has installed universal electronic kiosks for the purpose of e-services in accordance with Presidential Decree on Measures on E-services for the Population in Governmental Agencies"

    The Ministry informs that installation of electronic kiosks for test operation was commenced in June in several agencies.

    Four months have passed since the signing of the ceasefire agreement that ended the Second Karabakh War, on November 9, 2020. Armenia is now embroiled in a political crisis because of the fallout from its decisive defeat in that conflict, while the status of Karabakh remains a topic of political dispute between the hitherto warring parties. Even so, Azerbaijan has already started making plans for the future of its partially regained western region. On March 9, the Azerbaijani government reportedly decided on locations for constructing solar and wind power plants in six districts of Karabakh (Report.az, March 9). This is not the first time Baku has taken practical steps regarding its renewable energy plans for the area. Indeed, on February 15, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the first mini-hydropower plant in the Lachin district village of Gulebird (Aztv.az, February 15).

  • Azerbaijani ministries and departments to fully transfer to rendering e-services by 2013

    The full transfer of Azerbaijani ministries and departments to rendering electronic services to the public is expected to take place by the end of the late first half of 2013, Azerbaijani Communication and IT Ministry's department representative Elchin Mammadov told journalists on Friday.

    Mr. Mammadov said the total number of electronic services to be provided by these agencies is 300 units.

    At present, eight agencies are connected to the e-government portal, which is scheduled to be commissioned by late 2011. This will be a key tool supporting public and private sector work with citizens and enterprises.

  • Azerbaijani ministry intensifies electronic services

    The Azerbaijani Tax Ministry held a board meeting to discuss the obligations to execute President Ilham Aliyev’s decree on electronic services today.

    The meeting discussed an action plan for 2011-2012, within which it is planned to create a special section on e-services on official online resources.

    By late this year, it is also planned to complete the necessary measures to ensure personal data and operations technical security carried out through these electronic services, as well as payment of fees in real time.

  • Azerbaijani ministry makes list of e-services for population

    The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry has determined a list of e-services to be rendered to the population.

    They include the possibility of citizens' appeal for laying new telephone lines and activating the services rendered based on the public telephone network, Internet services connection, telecommunications equipment certification (information services) and mail tracking.

  • Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development expanding coverage of its electronic services

    Ministry of Economic Development will continue working to expand coverage of e-services to the population, head of the Ministry of Economic Development's Administration Samir Veliyev told Trend.

    "Document circulation in the Ministry is electronized and corporate electronic signature is used. A modern communications infrastructure is created, advanced software is installed, all the necessary licenses for the system and server programs are acquired," Veliyev said.

  • Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes has announced directions of e-services

    The Ministry of Taxes Azerbaijan has approved a plan of actions within the execution of presidential decree from 23 May 2011 on "Measures of organization of e-services in govenrmental agencies".

    The Ministry reports that in accordance with the approved action plan the Taxes Ministry will create a special section of e-services at its website to ensure free access to the list of documents required for services (a reference, forms, etc.) and the possibility of their electronic placement.

  • Azerbaijani ministry to intensify e-service introduction in 2012

    The Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes intends to continue implementing the e-government projects in 2012 and to achieve significant changes in the short term prospect, Deputy Minister of Taxes Sahib Alakbarov said in an interview posted on the website of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party on Saturday.

    "We have such challenges as the formation of an effective economy focused on the innovation, as well as the implementation of effective tax policy in connection with Azerbaijan's transition to the new stage of development," he said.

  • Azerbaijani President signs order on provision of e-services by state agencies

    President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on some measures in the sphere of provision of e-services by state agencies, the Azerbaijani President's official website reported.

    The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to determine the rules and types of e-services on specific spheres to be provided by the central executive authorities within two months.

  • Azerbaijani public does not believe that municipalities ready to provide e-services

    The harsh reality may disrupt the implementation of the basic clause of the being-drafted State Program of Expansion of Public E-Services & Development of E-Government 2013-15: provision of e-services to citizens not only by central bodies of executive power, but also by municipalities and executive authorities in the field.

    At today’s Baku public hearing on the draft program, organized by the State Agency for Citizen Service & Social Innovations and the Ministry of Communications & IT, the public has questioned the feasibility of the program due to the lack of clarity with the sources of funding for its implementation.

  • Azerbaijani state agencies to accelerate implementation of e-services

    The state structures of Azerbaijan will accelerate work on the introduction of electronic services, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan said on Saturday.

    The decision was taken on the results of a meeting of Coordination Group on the implementation of Electronic Azerbaijan state program and an action plan on Electronic Government, held yesterday at the Ministry with the participation of authorized representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and other government agencies.

  • Azerbaijani State Committee for Land and Cartography expands e-services

    The Azerbaijani State Committee for Land and Cartography has adopted administrative regulations for nine types of e-services, the committee said on Friday.

    Among them are getting information about the State Committee for form number, on a plot of land on the number of the inventory, preparation of maps of municipalities, work on geodesy, gravimetry, photogrammetry, fortography, engineering, surveying, and authorization to data from the land registry.
