The Ministry of Finance topped the list of e-Government development in 2017.
A report on the evaluation and ranking of Việt Nam’s e-Government development in 2017 was announced as part of the National Conference on e-Government in Hà Nội on Thursday.
The Ministry of Finance led the way in e-Government development in 2017, with more than 20 million requested records under online processing, according to a report on Vietnam’s e-Government development in 2017.
Announced by the Vietnam Digital Communications Association as part of the National Conference on e-Government in Hanoi on July 5, the report featured evaluations and rankings for three categories, including ministries and ministerial-level agencies, governmental agencies and centrally-run cities and provinces.

Minister and Chairman of the Government Office, Mai Tien Dung, delivered a commendation from the Prime Minister to Bac Ninh province for its considerable innovations and reforms in administrative procedures, as well as its outstanding economic achievements.
Minister Dung made the remarks on behalf of the Government while leading the Prime Minister’s Working Group to work with the authorities of Bac Ninh province on June 22.

Việt Nam is promoting the development of smart cities and this requires participation by all ministries, localities and enterprises and international experience, a conference heard in HCM City on Thursday.
Speaking at the "Smart City - Sustainable City", Trần Quốc Thái, deputy general director of the Ministry of Construction’s urban development department, said: "The Ministry of Construction is proposing smart urban development by 2025 with a vision to 2030 and this is an important project.”

Foreign experts presented solutions to turn Ho Chi Minh City into a smart urban area at a conference held by the municipal People’s Committee on June 13.
The proposed solutions focused on general architecture framework, information-technology foundation, smart city management centre, traffic, education, health care, natural resources-environment, tourism, emergency operation centres and cyber security, among others.
