Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) is a global group of professional services firms and a provider of professional and education services. It opened its 86th global office in Salalah recently and is planning a new office in Duqm in 2017. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of TAG-Org, is known as a strong promoter of intellectual property in the Arab region.

In an interview with Muscat Daily during his recent visit to Oman, Abu-Ghazaleh spoke about his outlook for economic growth in the GCC, the importance of digital education and promoting a culture of knowledge-creation in the region.

An e-link was launched by the Ministry of Manpower with the Ministry of Justice yesterday.

The launching ceremony was organised at the General Diwan of the Ministry of Manpower in the presence of Hamad bin Khamis Al A’amri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Manpower for Labour Affairs and Issa bin Ahmed Al Azri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice.

Implementation of a notification system for absconding workers will be started by Ministry of Manpower after Tuesday.

The system will be mandatory with effect from January 2017 in Governorate of Muscat and in February 2017 for the remainder governorates.

The system is part of the e-transformation programmes for labour welfare.

Cash payments will not be accepted at the Royal Hospital registration counter starting from next year, the hospital said in a tweet. Starting from January 1st, 2017, only electronic payment via debit/credit cards will be accepted. The hospital called on patients to bring their cards when visiting the hospital.

Winners of the fifth edition of Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment 2016 were announced on Tuesday evening in an award ceremony held at the Grand Hall of Sultan Qaboos University Cultural Centre, under the auspices of H E Dr Abdulmunim bin Mansour bin Said al Hasani, Minister of Information.

Organised by the Information Technology Authority (ITA), the ceremony saw the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) winning three awards while Omantel got the private sector award.
