With the aim of providing an interactive interface linking PEIE 's staff with existing and potential investors, and business owners, the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) launched recently "Live Chat" service on its website www.peie.om. The service aspires at answering enquiries, providing assistance, welcoming suggestions among other services.

Commenting about the value of this service, Ibtisam Al Farooji, Director of PEIE 's Communication and Investor Services Center explained that Live Chat service plays a vital role in facilitating access to those in charge of customer care at the Communication and Investor Services Centre and hence easing access to the required information on the one hand and raise further awareness on the services offered by PEIE on the other hand. "Besides, the service provides an opportunity to strengthen relations with the existing and potential investors through direct interaction and thereby turn these relations into investments on the ground. The Live Chat service offers a great value to PEIE in the current digital and e-marketing era," Al Farooji pointed out.

The Information Technology Authority (ITA) organised a two-day capacity building workshop earlier this week at Hormuz Grand Hotel to unveil the details of the fifth edition of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment. The event was attended by Dr Salim bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA, and a number of representatives from various government entities, private sector and SME companies, a press release said.

At the event, Ruzaiqi said, “We are pleased to launch the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment to appreciate the efforts in the ICT sector for all government and private organisations including the SMEs.

In a step towards fulfilling the Sultanate’s commitment towards e-governance, the Majan Electricity Company (MJEC) and the Information Technology Authority (ITA) have jointly launched the first-ever tender over the newly launched portal for e-tenders.

The entire e-tendering process is quite simple. The tender gets initiated when a client enters details, such as the type of tender, the work requested, the length of time, deadline and activities involved, and submits it on the portal.

The fifth edition of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment was announced on Monday.

Organisers said there will be three new categories this year including the Best eTransformation achievement, Best service supporting doing business and the Best eParticipation for decision-making initiative.

More and more companies are starting to use the fast and easy e-services provided by the Invest Easy online portal (investeasy.gov.om).

The new secure portal enables investors to complete their company registration process online in less than three minutes. In addition to starting a new company, the portal also enables existing businesses to manage their interactions with the government.
