As part of the digital transformation, the Ministry of Health launched e-health portal ‘Re-engineering’ project on Monday at an event at the Grand Millennium Hotel.

The launch ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health, with the presence of Dr Fatima bint Mohammed al Ajmiyah, MoH’s Under-Secretary for Administrative, Financial, and Planning Affairs, along with director generals at the MoH and governorates, and heads of information technology in the directorates and hospitals

Spatial development: International consultants sought to masterplan and design sustainable cities in alignment with Oman Vision 2040 and also UN SDG goals

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has kicked off an ambitious initiative to support the development of ‘Smart Cities’ in three major locations of the Sultanate of Oman: Suhar, Nizwa and Salalah.

Heads of Units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus on Sunday held their first joint meeting on the five-year Government Digital Transformation Programme (2021-2025) endorsed by the Council of Ministers in July 2021.

The meeting was aimed at establishing a common platform for higher administration in the government sector to help monitor the progress made in the programme, the challenges and measures to resolve them to ensure streamlined implementation of the action plan and to achieve the desired national goals.

Oman ranks 48th out of a total of 134 countries in the Networked Readiness Index

The second edition of the Digital Indicators Report issued by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology stated that the Sultanate of Oman has made strides in laying the foundations of digital society and preparing the telecommunications and information technology sector to be modern and feasible for various economic and social aspects as well as responsive to the requirements of sustainable development.

This is obvious by establishing many projects, which contributed to building a digital infrastructure that enabled all individuals and sectors to access various services.

The sultanate will invest RO170mn over the next few years in the Digital Transformation Programme, which aims to enhance national competencies, Oman News Agency reported on Wednesday.

The programme, being implemented from 2021 to 2025, is carried out by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and will include investments in improving processes, re-engineering government services and improving digital infrastructure.
