Officials say command centre up and running, while citizens seem to be unaware

Bengaluru Smart City Limited (BSCL) has finally rolled out the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) to address public grievances after months of delay. However, BSCL officials say while ICCC is up and functional, it is yet to be launched formally.

Wide, uninterrupted footpaths often beckon walkers in big numbers. But one look at the just upgraded Indiranagar 80 Feet Road and its narrow, discontinuous walking space, and the compromises come out starkly. Along several stretches of this flashy, concretised road, commercial properties have taken over the footpath with sedans and SUVs parked across. Nowhere to go, pedestrians are forced to walk on the road jeopardising their lives.

Intelligent Traffic Mgmt System combines high-speed cameras and infrared flashes to capture clear images of vehicles and detect potential offences too

Lucknow Smart traffic management system equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) is helping authorities maintain safety on the streets and track traffic violators. As part of this, traffic police and smart city officials have identified habitual offenders and shared the list of 25 people with the RTO office for further action.

In a groundbreaking development, Zoram Medical College and Civil Hospital Aizawl have been equipped with two cutting-edge 5G-enabled Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances, a generous contribution by the Smart Cities Mission.

Under the Smart Cities Mission, a total of eight such high-tech ambulances will be allocated to eight healthcare facilities in Aizawl, extending their benefits to both public and private hospitals.

A couple of days ago, the district in-charge secretary Anjum Parvez instructed the officials to commence the process of transferring the Smart City works to the Belagavi City Corporation (BCC). Meanwhile, the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have locked horns over the quality of works taken up under the Smart City project.

Recently, district minister Satish Jarkiholi alleged that the works done under the Smart City project are sub-standard and not up to the mark, considering the money spent on them. He also levelled corruption charges against BJP MLA Abhay Patil.
