Augustine Sefa, Deputy Commissioner, Training and Development at Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has said staff of the Authority would from November 2022 receive information technology training through an e-learning platform.

Mr Sefa who was speaking at the official commencement of the GRA’s IT training centre in Tema said E-learning which was a feature of the centre would enable all its staff across the country to access the needed IT training without having to travel to Accra with its associated financial burden and inconveniences.

The Volta regional capital, Ho, and some principal areas in the region are witnessing the installation of community WIFI services by Bluetown Company Limited, a hi-tech telecos entity to foster digitization and internet connectivity in rural Ghana.

Mr. Brian Tsikpor, Director, Corporate Affairs, Bluetown briefing the Ghana News Agency in their entry into the Volta space said the Company was poised to deploy affordable and cheaper internet connectivity beyond the reach of the major telcos.

The Wakanda City of Return project has been launched in Cape Coast to pave way for the creation of an ultra-modern smart city that befits Cape Coast as a tourism hub.

The African Diaspora Development Institute (ADDI), two local companies and the City of Cape Coast that form the fulcrum around the building of the city say, they are leveraging on the heritage and cultural tourism assets of Ghana to create a place of pilgrimage for the people of African descent to know about their history, culture, civilization of Africa and our role in the creation of the new world economy.

The Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management (CISCM) has lauded government’s efforts at promoting electronic governance (E-egovernance) to enhance Ghana’s industrial revolution.

“As a nation, I am happy to observe that we are heading in the right direction, particularly with the systematic implementation of E-Governance that is the prime-mover of our quest to be part of the fourth industrial revolution,” the President of the CISCM, Mr Richard Obeng Okrah said in Accra.

Minister of Communication, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has revealed that the government will extend telecommunication connectivity to 2,016 communities to connect about 3 million people.

She showed that the government is determined to provide 95% of the population with voice and data connectivity within the next 18 months.
