Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is alleging that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has access to the Electoral Commission’s database.

According to him, the process used by the NDC in the just ended biometric registration exercise shows that the party has been given access to the voters’ register data base.

Mr Akufo-Addo said this in an interview on Tamale-based radio station, Radio Justice during his two-day ‘Rise and Build Tour’ of the Northern Region.

Dr Edward Omane Baomah, Minister of Communications has cautioned Ghanaian youth against cyber related crimes and instead use the internet for career and academic advancement that would inure to national development.

He said government was establishing a computer emergency response unit to deal with cyber insecurity, as it (government) would not allow its investments in the sector to be misapplied.

The Director General of National Information Technology Agency (NITA), Mr William Tevie, has said the new Eastern Corridor optical backbone network will offer a great number of direct socio-economic benefits to communities within the project’s catchment area.

He said the facility had no coverage limitation and could be tapped through any of the many technologies available.

Mr Tevie told newsmen in Ho that the project would attract new businesses, offer teaching and learning opportunities as well as telemedicine and new e-health services along towns on the Eastern Corridor.
