The Information Technology Association of Canada will launch an ongoing "structured dialogue" between the Ontario government and IT industry in a bid bridge the gap between health care professionals and IT suppliers to better understand each other's needs and capabilities, officials said.

Bernard Courtois, president and CEO of ITAC, says his organization, acting at the request of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, will serve as a facilitator in a series of discussions and workshops that will bring together the suppliers, ministry officials and health care providers.

Mayor Larry O'Brien is going back to his technological roots and he plans to take the City of Ottawa with him.

The province is introducing a self-diagnostic home health-care program in Timmins later this fall that is hoped will relieve part of the burden on hospitals.

Timmins is one of six cities to be part of the first phase of the Ontario Telehomecare initiative, a partnership of Canada Health Infoway, the Ontario Telemedicine Network and the provincial government.

No more “during business-hours only”: Busy residents now have a new way to book and pay online for Parks & Recreation programs/facilities or submitting requests

Niagara residents will now be able to book and pay for online government services or education services and submit requests at their convenience. Residents in Port Colborne and Fort Erie have had these features available to them since 2006, however an updated system will be rolled out that will eventually include other municipalities in the Niagara region, such as Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Welland, Thorold, Wainfleet, Pelham, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Grimsby. Included in the new system are the four major education sector partners as well.
