  • BH: eGA signs a memorandum with Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency

    Seeking towards exchanging knowledge in the ICT field, the eGovernment Authority (eGA) signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) based on encouraging and attracting the financial capitals and investments in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

    The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by eGovernment Authority Strategy Business Process Reengineering & Enterprise Partnership Director Mr. Nezar Maroof on behalf of eGovernment Authority CEO Mohammed Ali AlQaed and KOTRA's Vice President Jong Kyung Kim.

  • BH: eGA-Eskan deal for e-services

    Bahrain’s eGovernment Authority (eGA) and Eskan Bank have signed a memorandum of understanding for launching a number of e-services to citizens on the eGovernment portal www.bahrain.bh.

    These services cover: Account statements, overdue and online payments, social loan outstanding balance enquiries, housing loans, title deed operations, advanced loan calculator, and housing loans beneficiaries’ information.

    The MoU was signed by Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, the CEO of the eGovernment Authority and Sabah Al Moayyed, the general manager of Eskan Bank, in the presence of a number of officials and executives from both entities.

  • BH: eGA: Payment of electricity and water bills, traffic contraventions are on high demand

    The eGovernment Authority (eGA) announced that the usage rate of many eServices pertaining to payment services continues to rise among the growing awareness of the importance of using such services.

    The successful awareness-raising campaigns launched by the eGA are aligned with the objectives of the National eGovernment Strategy 2016. The campaigns aim to improve the users' experience and increase the usage rate through encouraging users' active engagement.

  • BH: eGov app store boost as downloads hit 147,000

    Use of eGov app store (bahrain.bh/apps) has increased by 27 per cent in September, with applications being downloaded 146,991 times, it has emerged.

    According to eGovernment vice-chief executive Dr Zakareya Ahmed Al Khaja this indicates a growth in use of smart phone applications, a wider reach to society members, and high popularity than other eService channels.

  • BH: eGov Authority launches a public competition for the innovated ideas for the Open Data Plattform

    As part of its committed belief in enhancing transparency and encouraging eParticipation and innovation; the eGovernment Authority (eGA) has announced the launch of Open Data Platform Competition, which is open to the public's innovation in term of ideas, applications until 2nd June 2013.

    On this occasion, eGA Strategy eBusiness & Process Re-engineering Director Mr. Nizar Marouf highlighted the importance of the authority's strategy to promote technological initiatives and pave the way for a competitive environment in order to improve delivery efficiency and deliver high-quality eServices provided on the Open Data Platform.

  • BH: eGovernment Authority announces activation of 'Ramadaniyat' section on bahrain.bh

    As part of its efforts to provide a wide range of high-quality services, the eGovernment Authority has announced the activation of 'Ramadaniyat' section on the eGovernment portal (Bahrain.bh/Ramadan).

    'Ramadaniyat' section provides various eservices that are looked for by citizens and residents; eServices include Prayer Times, Ramadan Calendar, and general information about Zakat.

    The section also provides mosques locations in the kingdom, in addition to the duaas and Majalis Directory, which enables the users to view a list of Ramadan gathering spots, their timings and contact numbers.

  • BH: eGovernment Authority CEO voices commitment to achieving excellence

    Chief Executive of the eGovernment Authority declared that the new strategy for the years 2012-2016 aims to achieve excellence in the future generation of government services, encourage innovation and effective participation with the community and boost entrepreneurship.

    He said in a statement today that in order to achieve the eGovernment's objectives, a number of goals have been set up to cater to the needs of partners from the public and private sectors.

    These goals, he added, include consolidating social interaction and partnership, protecting data and the user's rights, bolstering partnership with the private sector, enhancing readiness in the IT and communication field and providing comprehensive, effective and high-quality services.

  • BH: eGovernment Authority concludes its National Strategy 2007 - 2010

    In a press conference held yesterday by the eGovernment Authority, HE Shaikh Ahmed Bin Atteyatallah Al Khalifa, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Minister Responsible for the Telecommunications Sector announced that the eGovernment Authority successfully accomplished the main objectives of the National Strategy for 2007-2010 based its vision that states: "to be the eGovernment leader committed to provide all Government services that are integrated, best-in-class and available to all through their channels of choice helping Bahrain transform as the finest country in GCC to visit, live, work and do business".

    His Excellency hailed the eGovernment Authority achievements, particularly the global achievement of the Kingdom of Bahrain according to the United Nations eGovernment Readiness Report 2010 as Bahrain was ranked in the 1st in Middle East, 3rd in Asia, and 13th Worldwide. In addition launching 203 eservices via 4 channels: eGovernment Portal, Mobile Gateway, eServices Centers, and National Contact Center.

  • BH: eGovernment Authority is Strategic Partner of MEET ICT 2013

    The eGovernment Authority (eGA) announced its strategic partnership for MEET ICT 2013, organized 10th -12th December 2013 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre under the patronage of H.E. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation.

    The conference, organized for the fourth consecutive year, in cooperation with Worksmart and Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH), will turn the spotlight on the Kingdom’s regional role as a key player in building ICT capabilities through hosting a prestigious gathering of international experts. Such professionals will add their experience by displaying their skills in the ICT field in order to attract audience from Bahrain and the region.

  • BH: eGovernment Authority launches mobile payment services awareness campaign

    The eGovernment Authority has recently launched summer awareness campaign at the Bahrain City Center that will continue until August 2011 to facilitate public online payment for government transactions through the mobile portal (www.bahrain.bh/mobile), which is a mobile version of the National eGovernment Portal and one of the main eService delivery channels, namely: the National eGovernment Portal (Bahrain.bh), eServices Centers, Self-service kiosks, as well the National Contact Centre 80008001.

    This comes in line with its initiatives in raising awareness and promoting ePayment facilities.

    "The Kingdom of Bahrain enjoys a high mobile penetration rate among most age groups," stated Mr. Mohammed Ziad Asfour, Assistant Director, Marketing and Awareness Directorate at eGovernment Authority.

  • BH: eGovernment Authority organizes a workshop on open data for the private sector

    As part of its committed belief in enhancing transparent government work and boosting the knowledge economy through the provision of easy access to information of government data published by the governmental entities, the eGovernment Authority (eGA) has recently organized a workshop about an open data platform initiative for a variety of ICT companies that are headquartered in Bahrain.

    The workshop comes as part of implementing the National eGovernment Strategy 2016 action plans and initiatives carried out in order to facilitate government formalities- allowing an open data - excluding the confidential and personal- accessible for the public that will contribute in attracting and promoting investment in the Kingdom.

  • BH: eGovernment Authority participates in 20th Al Ayam Cultural Fair 2013

    The eGovernment Authority (eGA), as part of its commitment to culture and education, is participating in 20th Al Ayam Cultural Fair 2013.

    Held at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre from 16 - 24 September, the fair is held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Deputy Prime Minister and inaugurated by HE Mr. Mohammad Bin Ebrahim Al Mutawa State Minister for Follow-up.

  • BH: eGovernment Authority provides basic computer training for 15,000 citizens

    As part of its initiatives to reduce the digital gap, build an information society and provide a sufficient base of computer literate individuals, the eGovernment Authority has recently introduced a new batch in the (Qudrat) eTraining Program, a national project that aims to eliminate computer illiteracy by training 15,015 Bahraini citizens from different age groups and genders in the Kingdom of Bahrain over the years 2011 and 2012.

    The program plans to train 2,015 government employees and 13,000 Bahraini nationals, where each trainee attends 24 hours of accredited training by the eGovernment Authority (two hours a day for 12 days), in computer basics including Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet applications and internet surfing and how to use the eGovernment portal Bahrain.bh to encourage citizens to do their governmental services online.

  • BH: eGovernment Authority shares its experience with newly appointed directors in public sector

    As part of the induction program aiming at enhancing the managerial skills among the senior officials in the public sector, the eGovernment Authority received the third batch of the Senior Civil Service Diploma program, organized by the Bahrain Institution of Public Administration (BIPA).

    The Chief Executive of Bahrain eGovernment Authority, Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, delivered a keynote to a group of 15 newly appointed senior directors from various ministries and governmental entities.

    Mr. Al Qaed covered essential topics such as leadership, administrative skills and the role of leaders in improving the government processes and the employee performance.

  • BH: eGovernment Authority signs an agreement with Zayani Infosystems Middle East

    Anxious to develop and modernize its capabilities and competencies, the eGovernment Authority (eGA) will develop and execute an electronic system for the implementation and development of system management programs and projects, in order to facilitate the operations carried out individually or in collaboration with other entities.

    The step followed the signing of agreement between eGovernment Authority CEO Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Qaed and Zayani Infosystems Middle East Chairman Dr. Faisal Al-Zayani.

  • BH: eGovernment Authority strengthens role of technology amongst university students

    The eGovernment Authority (eGA) honored 25 University of Bahrain students who won the full refund of their course fees which were paid for the second semester 2012/2013 by using 'University of Bahrain Course Payment' service on the national portal bahrain.bh.

    That is on the sidelines of Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2013, held in its sixth edition under the patronage of H.H. Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology; at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel & Spa.

  • BH: eGovernment Authority's efforts to boost technical work praised

    Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh hailed the efforts exerted by the eGovernment Authority in linking ministries and government bodies within and advanced and integrated electronic system.

    He also praised the authority's efforts to boost technical work in the kingdom and elevate it to the level of technologically-advanced countries.

  • BH: eGovernment forum is a major success

    A vast number of international participants hailed the organisation and impact of Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2014.

    The event was held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa.

    The Bahrain IT Expo 2014, along with eight parallel workshops, was held at the Bahrain International Circuit.

  • BH: eGovernment forum lined up

    The seventh Bahrain International eGovernment Forum and Bahrain IT Expo 2014 next month will be the biggest yet with the number of workshops, floor space and speakers, all doubling from the last edition.

    eGovernment Authority (eGA) chief executive Mohammed Al Qaed told a Press conference at the Mövenpick Hotel yesterday that the event will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, Hotel and Spa and the Bahrain International Circuit during April 21-23.

  • BH: eGovernment honors participants with best proposals to develop open data platform

    As part of its efforts to enhance transparency and encourage eparticipation and innovation, the eGovernment Authority announced that it would honor several participants who provided innovative ideas to develop open data platform on the data.gov.bh as it launched the competition last May.

    Mr. Nezar Maroof, Director, Enterprise Architecture and Information Technology at the eGovernment Authority honored winners who provided innovative proposals in the field of open data platform, included: Musaab Ziad, Meshari Fakhroo, Asmaa Althawadi, Sameeha Hussain, Emrah Omuris, Jameshaid Rasheed and Khalid Al-Mushari.
