  • BH: H.E Mr. Yousif bin Abdul Rahman Al Zamil Presents e-Government Excellence Award 2013

    H.E Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Advisor to H.R.H the Prime Minister for Industrial and Oil Affairs and GPIC Chairman received at his office H.E Mr. Yousif bin Abdul Rahman Al Zamil, Deputy Chairman, H.E Mr. Anwar Saeed bin Salameh, Managing Director in the presence of Mr. Abdul Rahman Jawahery, GPIC President who presented to the Chairman the e-Learning Award for the Joint Sector recently won by GPIC. The Company is equally owned by the Kingdom of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait.

    GPIC Chairman expressed his sincere thanks to all members of the Board, Executive Management and employees of the Company for their outstanding efforts that enabled them through hard work and keen desire to develop with knowledge and technology to achieve such results and win this award.

  • BH: Health minister interacts with general public

    Health Minister Sadiq AbdulKarim Al Shehabi announced the reactivation of his blog via the eGovernment portal (Bahrain.bh), in line with the Health Ministry’s commitment to enhance channels of communication with the public and strengthen transparency.

    The minister will address full spectrum of topics that are related to the ministry, specifically the ministry’s commitment to enhance effective communication with patients and their families, as well as the continuous efforts of evaluating the health services patients receive. In addition, their dedication to resolving problems patients receive and positively improve clinical outcomes for the patients. Also, the many innovative and ambitious plans included in the Government Action Plan to extensively develop the healthcare service.

  • BH: Health Ministry wins best webpage award

    The Ministry of Health has won a key award for best Government-run electronic website.

    Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh was presented with the prize during the eGovernment Excellence Award ceremony, which was held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology (SCICT) Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa.

  • BH: Hi-tech facilitates access to services: Health Minister

    Minister of Health Sadiq Abdul-Karim Al-Shehabi commended the role of the new E-Complaints and Suggestions System (Tawasul) introduced by the e-Government Authority (EGA) in 2014.

    The Minister said that the 24/7 operational system had been introduced as part of the government's plan to develop practical mechanisms in the ministries, harness modern technologies to keep track of citizens' needs and effectively interact with citizens remark, complaints and proposals and to develop the services provided by the ministry in line with the aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to enhance the livelihood of citizens.

  • BH: Housing Minister takes part in special session on "Smart Cities"

    Housing Minister Bassim bin Yaqoub Al Hamer has affirmed that the kingdom has made advanced strides at the level of sustainable development following its success in upgrading all aspects of life and improving the living conditions of the citizens through landmark achievements attained thanks to the efforts of the political leadership.

    Speaking during a special session on "Smart Cities", held on the sidelines of the United Nations (UN) Third Habit Conference in the Ecuadorian city of Quito, the minister added that Bahrain had made pioneering steps in providing innovative solutions to cope with the increasing demand for housing through a package of unconventional solutions such as enhancing cooperation with the private sector and developing long-term programmes, attributing the successes to the unlimited support of the leadership.

  • BH: HRH Premier receives e-Government Forum participants

    His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has affirmed that GCC countries have made major development and progress strides and ensured their citizens' welfare and rights.

    This fact, he said, confirms to the world that GCC leaders, particularly in Saudi Arabia, have achieved a lot for their peoples, guaranteed their rights and provided them with huge potentials and capabilities, which have made peoples from all the world look forward to living in GCC countries, given the security and stability they enjoy despite their troubled regional neighbourhood.

  • BH: Human Rights Minister highlights EGA's Online Services

    Minister of State for Human Rights Affairs Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman praised the E-Government Authority (EGA)-provided excellent service and transactions through the E-Gov. Portal and various channels for individuals and establishments.

    This came at the awareness campaign presented by E-gov. staff to all ministry employees aimed to introduce to them the Authority's key services and to register them on the electronic system.

  • BH: iGA's live broadcast Instalive successful

    Beneficiaries of the Information and e-Government Authority (iGA), and its social media accounts' followers have massively interacted with the authority’s live blog, InstaLive, and the national portal, bahrain.bh.

    iGA Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali Al-Qaed asserted that InstaLive, being among the latest social media trends, was launched by the iGA in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to intensify direct communication and interaction between the citizens and officials.

  • BH: Inception of Zajel Project Discussed

    In line with the keenness of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to promote e-services between official bodies so as to speed up transactions and reduce reliance on paper work, the Secretariat-General of the cabinet today held a coordination meeting with the e-Government Authority (e-GA).

    Discussions focused on the executive steps required to implement the cabinet's resolution to apply the Zajel System, supervised by the cabinet's Secretariat-General, in order to enhance electronic integration and exchange services among ministries and governmental entities.

    The new online services will also give individuals the ability to settle any outstanding financial claims online.

    The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has launched a new online service in cooperation with the Informatics and eGovernment Authority that aims to assist citizens and residents to easily obtain information concerning their legal status in relation to travel bans before considering traveling abroad.

  • BH: Information Ministry, IGA discuss technical cooperation

    Information Affairs Ministry’s Undersecretary, Abdulrahman Mohammed Bahar, has reviewed technical cooperation with the Information and e-Government Authority (IGA) on re-engineering the Ministry’s electronic procedures and services, developing its technical projects and protecting its information systems, in addition to enhancing cooperation in the field of electronic systems.

    While chairing the joint technical meeting, along with IGA’s Acting Deputy CEO for Electronic Transformation, Dr. Zakaroya Ahmed Al-Khaja, in the presence of the Information Affairs Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, as well as directors and officials from both sides, Bahar lauded IGA’s efforts to provide government departments with integrated and advanced services and projects and enhance the efficiency of information systems and networks, praising its contributions to consolidating Bahrain’s leading e-government status at the international level.

  • BH: Initiative to Launch e-Mail Communication between Government Members Praised

    The sound directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, to launch communication with government members via e-mail have been praised by ministers and government officials.

    In statements to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on the sidelines of the 6th Bahrain International e-Government Forum & IT Expo 2013, they said that the move would reflect positively on government work, upgrade the level of follow up on the implementation of government resolutions and procedures and speed up government action.

  • BH: Initiative to set up social media policies

    Amid the security challenges and accelerated technical changes, Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi has directed the ministry’s officials to work together with government institutions to reach policies and controls for the safe use of social media platforms.

    In implementation of the directives, the ministry has launched a cooperation initiative with the eGovernment Authority and University of Bahrain on the safe use of social networking platforms through the government work system, Assistant Undersecretary Abdullah Ahmed Al-Blushi said.

  • BH: Interior Minister Launches e-Traffic Services system

    Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah launched today a new system to register and inspect vehicles as well as a line-up of e-services offered by the General Directorate of Traffic in cooperation with the e-Government Authority and the Central Informatics Organization (CIO).

    The Interior Minister described the new e-services system as a new chapter of success and an achievement aimed at streamlining procedures and optimising services for people in Bahrain. He thanked mainly the Supreme e-Government Committee and the e-Government Authority for their relentless work to upgrade the government services.

  • BH: International e-Government Forum inaugurated

    The Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology, H.H. Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, has patronized the Bahrain International e-Government Forum2015 at the Isa Cultural Centre.

    Kuwaiti Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Mubarak Al Sabah, Swedish former Prime Minister John Fredrik Reinfeldt, Ambassador-Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region Adam Kulach and around 700 delegates from different countries, attended.

  • BH: Justice Ministry launches online ‘Travel Ban Services’

    The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has launched a new online service in cooperation with the Informatics and eGovernment Authority that aims to assist citizens and residents to easily obtain information concerning their legal status in relation to travel bans before considering traveling abroad.

    The new service follows the directives of the Executive Committee, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and established in coordination with the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Resident Affairs (GDNPRA) along with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.

  • BH: Justice Ministry launches online execution procedures system, e-services

    Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments and the Supreme Judicial Council announced the implementation of an advanced online system for Execution Directorates’ procedures as well as a set of new e-services, in cooperation with the Informatics & e-Government Authority.

    Held last Thursday, the announcement was in the presence of the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Shaikh Khalid bin Ali AlKhalifa; Head of Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Cassation Court Chancellor Salem bin Mohammed AlKuwari; along with Informatics & eGovernment Authority CEO Mr. Mohammed Ali AlQaed.

  • BH: Leadership congratulated on ICT achievements

    The Kingdom of Bahrain achieved a ranking of 11th place in the Telecommunications sub-index of the2016 edition of the e-Government Development Index (EGDI), published by the United Nations, which represents an increase of 15 ranks over its previous position in the index in 2014.

    The Kingdom’s achievement, which was announced in the United Nations latest e-Government Survey Report published last month, represents the latest in a series of international achievements for the Kingdom of Bahrain which comes as a result of the Government’s strategic leadership in developing the Kingdom, as well as the unceasing efforts of all relevant governmental entities and sector stakeholders.

  • BH: Merger of 10 Government Entities and Establishment of Government Task forces to reduce expenditure

    His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today chaired a meeting of the Executive Committee, during which additional efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s fiscal position were discussed. The discussions follow His Majesty King Hamad's directives to form a downsized government in order to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across government, without adversely affecting citizens’ standard of living.

    Following the meeting, the Executive Committee announced that during the next Cabinet meeting it will put forward a recommendation regarding the integration of ten government entities, to ensure optimum public spending.

  • BH: Ministry holds workshop on information security

    Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry has organised a workshop on information security for its staff.

    Held in coordination with the Information and e-Government Authority (iGA), the workshop is within the Ministry’s programmes to raise awareness on information security, promote the cyber-security culture and develop its staff’s capabilities to deal with security risks when using government or personal computers.
