  • Bahrain e-services push to cost $79m

    A hi-tech makeover for the Bahrain government will have cost BD30 million ($79.6 million) by the time the project is completed, it has emerged.

    That is how much it is costing to put all government services online, eGovernment Authority chief executive officer Mohammed Al Qaed told a Press conference on the eve of Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2010.

    The three-day event is being held from 10am to 6pm at Isa Cultural Centre. Entry is free.

  • 2013 Bahrain e-Content Award results finalized

    The organizing committee of the Award of Bahrain e-Content 2013 organized by the Bahrain Internet Society (BIS), in collaboration with the e-Government Authority and held under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology (SCICT), has announced the finalization of the evaluation of e-content projects submitted to the Bahrain e-Content Award 2013 by public and private sectors and individuals.

    BIS President and Chairman of the organizing committee of the Award of Bahrain e-Content 2013, Nawaf Abdul-Rahman said the jury committee has met for five consecutive days to examine, evaluate all e-content projects submitted by government and private sectors institutions and private individuals.

  • Bahrain among high performing countries in e-government services

    Bahrain ranked fifth in Asia and 26th internationally in e-government development efforts, a UN report has revealed.

    According to the 2018 UN E-Government Survey, Bahrain maintained its ranking among countries scoring very high on the E-Government Development Index (EGDI).

    Only two Arab countries, Bahrain and the UAE, were among the eight Asian states which ranked among the high performing countries.

    Bahrain’s eGovernment authority’s social media accounts have topped a GCC-wide comparative study on activities and public interactions.

    It was ranked top among GCC counterparts for citizen engagement after its Facebook page reached 12,931 ‘likes’, with 42,439 views on YouTube and 8,463 followers on its Twitter account.

  • Bahrain government launches maintenance e-service

    The Ministry of Works (MoW) in Bahrain has launched a building maintenance request e-service on its eGovernment National Portal.

    The service is being offered to customers with maintenance contracts in Bahrain and offers them the chance to register and monitor requests using the internet.

    Deputy Premier, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa chaired the meeting of the High Information and Communication Committee, at the Gudaibiya Palace today.

    Deputy Premier, HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and Deputy Premier, Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, and committee members attended the meeting.

  • Bahrain top’s Asia in e-government

    Bahrain’s e-government projects are rapidly catching up, especially in government data and on e-government, Bahrain is the top country in Asia, said Sweden’s Former Prime Minister John Fredrik Reinfeldt.

    On the sidelines of the inauguration of the eGovernment Forum in Bahrain, held at the Isa Cultural Centre, he said that Bahrain has emerged as a global leader.

  • Bahrain tops Arab countries in e-Government in e-Government Survey

    Minister of Transportation and Acting CEO of the Economic Development Board (EDB) Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed has lauded the positive results achieved by the kingdom in United Nations e-Government Survey.

    Speaking during one of the workshops of the UN public Service Conference 2014 in Korea, he said that Bahrain was ranked 18 globally in the e-Government index, before many European and Asian countries.

  • Bahrain's E-Government's new format 2013 launched

    The E-Government Authority CEO, Mohammed Al-Qaed, announced that the new format of the Kingdom of Bahrain's E-Government Authority portal (Bahrain.bh) will be drastically changed during the first half of next year (2013) for the first time ever since it had been conceived.

    Mr. Al-Qaed revealed the launching of a project created in order to serve excellent IT and media graduates as early as the beginning of next year (2013). He told the Arabic-speaking (Al-Ayam) daily newspaper that the new website will be easy to browse and includes many new features with an added feature of privacy.

  • Deputy Premier to patronise Bahrain International e-Government Forum

    Under the patronage of Deputy Premier and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the Bahrain International e-Government Forum will be held on March 15-19, 2015.

    The forum, organised by the e-Government Authority in partnership and cooperation with the Bahrain Society of Engineers, the Project Management Institute – Arabian Gulf Chapter, Bahrain Branch and Youth Tech, will be held at the Isa Cultural Centre and the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).

    Coinciding with Kingdom of Bahrain National Days celebrations on December 16 and 17, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al Fateh.

    Also, in commemoration of 42nd Anniversary of its accession to UN as a full member and 14th Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa's Accession to the Throne, e-Government Authority held a ceremony marking the national occasion with the participation of the Authority’s officials and affiliates.

  • SCICT commends for Bahrain’s UN achievement

    Bahrain ranked 18 among the 25 world e-government leaders with very high e-government development index (EGDI) in 2014. Bahrain is the only GCC member on the index, said the Minister for Transportation, Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed. The country ranked first among the Arab nations in this sector, he said and commended the role of the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Council for ICT (SCICT), Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, in the leadership extended to the development of the ICT sector.

    The deputy prime minister in cooperation with many other ministries is ensuring that the e-government principles are implemented in the ministries.

  • UNDESA delegation to visit Bahrain to be informed about e-Government experience

    The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) will organise a visit of a delegation representing 15 countries to the kingdom of Bahrain to benefit from its e-Government experience.

    The visit, the first of its kind in the world, is a result of the great success of the Civil Service Forum, hosted by the Kingdom in June, 2013, under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the participation of over 700 participants from 97 countries.
