  • Bahrain eGov't Authority listens to citizens opinions through eGov't blog "We Listen to Improve"

    The eGovernment Authority of the Kingdom of Bahrain is working on a new strategy for the eGovernment 2011-2014 and is inviting the public to share their views and suggestions in shaping the new strategy. Through the "eGovernment blog" which was launched on the eGovernment portal www.bahrain.bh have a one on one communication channel with the public.

    The blog is considered as one of most important pillars in the development of the eGovernment new strategy, especially since the previous strategy was based on a study of the needs of the public on different targets such as citizens, residents, businessmen and visitors.

  • Bahrain eGovernment Authority announces bouquet of eServices

    With summertime approaching, the eGovernment Authority announced a bouquet of eServices specially designed for different public segments though various service delivery channels (the internet eGovernment Portal, the mobile portal Bahrain.bh/mobile, and the national contact center 80008001), that includes a variety of services related to student exam results, flight details and other eServices related to activities that can be utilized during the summer.

    The summer eServices are mainly provided by the Ministry of Education for students, graduates and parents to obtain the exam results for all government school students from the 4th primary grade to final high school grade year, providing also the service of issuing copies of high school certificates in preparation to apply for universities as well as applying online for the yearly scholarships.

  • Bahrain eGovernment Authority launches mobile awareness campaign

    The eGovernment Authority launched recently its summer awareness campaign at Bahrain Mall to introduce the eservices provided to the public via Mobile Gateway, one of the main service delivery channels: (National portal Bahrain.bh, the eServices Centers, and the National Call Center) the campaign is planned to run until 20th, Aug, 2010.

    Mr. Mohammed Ziad Asfour the Assistant Director of Marketing and Awareness Department at the eGovernment Authority, stated that: "Mobiles are widely used among most age categories in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The penetration of mobile usage reached 150% according to latest statistics, therefore the mobile gateway was launched to provide another version of the eGovernment portal via mobile phones to provide the public with modern and simple means to communicate with the eGovernment at anytime and anywhere".

  • Bahrain eGovernment Authority organizes a workshop on cyber law

    The eGovernment Authority (eGAa) in close collaboration with the Ministry of Finance Kingdom of Bahrain organized a workshop on Cyber Law.

    The workshop witnessed the participation of number of international speakers from the World Bank (USA), United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), and the Cyber Crime Research Institute (Germany) as part of its firm belief in how to update cyber law in order to ensure personal data, confidentiality, freedom of expression and the free access to information. The workshop was organized based on the guidance received from the Supreme Council of ICT ("SCICT").

  • Bahrain eGovernment Authority starts its summer awareness campaign

    As part of the eGovernment's Authority vision to provide convenient electronic services through numerous channels for everyone, the eGovernment Authority recently announced its summer awareness campaign at the Bahrain City Center starting from June 16th to July 31st with the aim to familiarize the public with the available electronic services with a special focus on the eKiosks payment services as one of the innovative payment methods to easen and maximize citizen usage of government services at anytime and anywhere.

    The eKiosk provides users the opportunity to carry out their electronic transactions smoothly and contributes to closing the gap between the public and the government services to strengthen the concept of quality and integrity in all the services provided. The 35 eKiosks are distributed in different locations in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

  • Bahrain eGovernment launches 'Ramadaniyat' eServices

    As part of the eGA's constant efforts to provide innovative eServices and meaningful programs on the occasion of Ramadan, the eGovernment has announced the launch of bundle of eServices under 'Ramadanyat' corner which consists of online services that aid the citizens during the holy month of Ramadan such as fasting timings, list of 'majales' in addition to Bahrain's Islamic events.

    "eServices have been launched under "Ramadanyat" corner on the eGovernment Portal (bahrain.bh) and the Mobile Portal (bahrain.bh/mobile) aiming at providing various integrated and unified eServices that are needed by the citizen during Ramadan," said Mr. Mohammed Ziad Asfour, Assistant Director of Marketing and Awareness of the eGovernment Authority.

  • Bahrain eGovernment plans development centre

    Plans to set up a “one-stop shop” that will work as a vital resource for the governments of developing countries and for all development practitioners were discussed at a recent seminar in Bahrain.

    The first National Global Alliance for ICT and Development (GAID) of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) seminar was aimed at accelerating the achievement of the eCenter for Millennium Development Goals.

    The seminar concluded with several significant recommendations for the implementing the millennium development goals (MGDs) set by the United Nations using ICT tools and modern communication technology.

  • Bahrain eGovt forum set for next month

    The eighth Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2015 will be held next month at the Isa Cultural Centre and Bahrain International Circuit, a report said.

    It will be held from March 15 to 19, under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

  • Bahrain eGovt holds workshop on system development

    Bahrain’s Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) recently conducted a workshop on system development projects attended by more than 50 IT specialists of government and semi-government entities.

    The workshop on ‘Policies, Standards and Best Practices for Applications Development’ by the Enterprise Architecture & Information Technology Directorate comes in line with the efforts exerted by the ICT Governance Committee (ICTGC) that aims at achieving more accomplishments in the field of IT infrastructure and development of IT systems.

  • Bahrain eGovt launches Haj, Umrah services

    The e-Government Authority (eGA) of Bahrain has launched several Haj and Umrah-related e-services including an agencies directory, which will enable users to search for the contact details of local licensed agencies.

    The new services on eGA’s portal bahrain.bh also provide a list of relevant instructions and directions for pilgrims.

    A pilgrim registration enquiry, which helps monitor and evaluate agencies with the purpose of continuously improving services, has also been set up.

  • Bahrain eGovt launches Ramadan section

    The eGovernment Authority (eGA) of Bahrain has launched its new section dedicated to Ramadan, offering services with an application for smart devices.

    All eServices related to Ramadan are available in the 'Ramadaniyat' section on the eGA portal (bahrain.bh) and the mobile portal (bahrain.bh/mobile).

  • Bahrain eGovt opens nominations for award

    Bahrain’s eGovernment has announced that nominations are open to the seventh Excellence Award until February 22, a report said.

    The event is being held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

  • Bahrain eGovt payment value up 12pc in Q1

    The growth of ePayment value across various eGovernment channels in Bahrain reached 12 per cent during the first quarter of 2018 versus last quarter of 2017, said a report from Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA).

    Values reach more than BD23 million ($60.7 million) were completed from January to March 2018 with an increase of 10 per cent in number of financial transactions.

  • Bahrain eGovt portal gets new search features

    Bahrain's eGovernment Authority has added an interactive search engine with new features to the kingdom's national portal bahrain.bh.

    The engine is connected with a unified database, linked to all government websites available on the internet and supported with new features that conform to best international practices.

    CEO of the eGovernment Authority Mohammed Ali Al Qaed stated that in cooperation with authorities concerned, the eGovernment began updating and linking government database that are supported with an advanced and efficient search engine.

  • Bahrain eGovt records 78pc customer satisfaction

    Customer satisfaction level of online services provided by Bahrain’s Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has reached 78 per cent, according to an annual study.

    The customer satisfaction levels were measured through a comprehensive survey from the Bahraini BHCSI model that is established by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) to measure customer satisfaction.

  • Bahrain electronic financial dealings surge

    Bahrain's eGovernment Authority (eGA) has announced a significant increase in electronic financial transactions via its National Portal since the beginning of the year. eGA figures show that the number of transactions reached 12,550, worth around BD940,000, in the third quarter of this year alone. This represented a 200 per cent increase in number of transactions and a 250pc increase in overall amount compared to the first quarter.

    As part of its commitment to offering flexible payment solutions to the public, the eGA National Portal allows them to use regular debit cards which deduct the required total directly from the users' bank accounts. Debit card transactions accounted for approximately 20pc of the total number of transactions, the rest were done by credit card.

    When it comes to offering high-quality eGovernment services, Bahrain is second to none According to a new study, Bahrain has toppled many advanced economies with its eService satisfaction ratings. The study released by the University of Bahrain says that eGovernment satisfaction ratings here are above the international average.

    eServices here recorded a satisfaction rate of 81 percent, comfortably beating the international average of 78.1pc. In the United States of America, the eGovernment satisfaction level is 77pc. An estimated 5,000 people, individuals, government employees and businesses persons from all governorates, took part in the study.

  • Bahrain Expands Online Services

    Bahrain government is expanding its cyber space initiatives with the introduction of 30 e-services which will be added to the existing 167 facilities available through its portal.

    Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shaikh Ahmed bin Ateyatallah Al Khalifa announced the new services while unveiling the new address of the e-government portal (www.bahrain.bh) at a Press conference on Monday.

    He said that the e-governmental portal gives the opportunity to provide key services to citizens through the portal, with the new easy-to-remember address and more services to offers.

  • Bahrain firms ink online service accord

    Al Nadeem and Tawasul, two Bahrain-based ICT companies, yesterday announced a strategic partnership, in an effort to provide world-class online services to clients in the kingdom and across the GCC.

    Al Nadeem chief executive Ubaydli Al Ubaydli and Tawasul chief executive Adel Maymoon signed the agreement during the Bahrain IT Expo 2013, held at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa.

    The two companies will jointly provide the 'Total Online Presence' solution, which is meant for governments, large businesses and corporations in both public and private sectors.

  • Bahrain first among Arab countries in the UN eGovernment Survey 2014

    H.E. Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation praised Bahrain’s results in the UN eGovernment Readiness Survey 2014 during one of the workshops held within the activities of the UN Public Service Forum and Awards 2014 in Seoul, South Korea.

    The UN announced the Kingdom of Bahrain’s achievement of an advanced ranking in the report 2014 as Bahrain ranks first in five geographic regions advancing to the 18th place in eGovernment readiness worldwide compared to the 36th place in the former report of 2012, showing a progress of 18 points ahead of many European and Asian countries in this field.
