Welcomes New Port City initiative
The Mayor of Housing, My-ACE China, has expressed profound excitement and commendation on the flag-off of the Digitization scheme for the e-Governance of all operations at the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority (GPHCDA).
He has also welcomed the New Port City initiative which would develop a housing scheme over 1000 ha at the Elementary axis where the Alesa Highland Sustainable Smart City is proposed.
In a bold move to address the Federal Capital City’s (FCC) growing power needs and future development, the Deputy Director (Electrical) of the Department of Engineering Service, FCDA, Engr Abdullahi Suleiman Liman, announced that a newly unveiled Electricity Masterplan (EMP) outlines a comprehensive strategy for electrical infrastructure.
Engr. Liman presented this information at the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE Abuja branch technical session of the Monthly General Meeting of July and coincidentally the last general meeting of Engr. Ben Osy Okoh 2-year tenor as the Chairman, which was held virtually due to anti-government protests.
Ondo State Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa has set up a Diaspora Smart City in Akure, the capital. It is tagged: ‘Green Economy Initiative’.
It was the outcome of the weekly meeting of the Executive Council (exco), held at the Governor’s Office yesterday.
Highlighting the advantages of the Diaspora Smart City, he said the project would be a tourism hub for Southwest regional development.

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission ( NDPC) on Tuesday said it was on guard to ensure that individuals and organizations who want to deploy technology to drive a smart city project comply with data protection laws in the country.
This disclosure was made by the National Commissioner of NDPC, Dr Vincent Olatunji in Abuja at the Second Nigerian Data Expo and Conference (NDEC) organized by ioSafe Nigeria, and Havel Corporate Concept in collaboration with some Federal government Ministries Departments and Agencies.
