The Emirates Identity Authority's, EIDA, decision to cease accepting cash transactions and instead accept e-Dirham and credit cards at all its customer centres nationwide from 2nd July, 2017 is a welcome move that will make things much easier for customers, said The Gulf Today in an editorial on Saturday.

"The move will definitely support EIDA's pursuit of accuracy and efficiency levels in its operations. The diversification of channels of service is in the best interest of customers as they will get more convenient and flexible payment options.

BCG survey shows growing adoption and satisfaction with online government services

Users of online government services in the UAE report high levels of satisfaction, but three quarters are suffering from usability problems, according to a survey by Boston Consulting Group.

The 2016 Digital Government Survey showed that the UAE ranked fourth overall worldwide in satisfaction with online government services, and that there has been a 39.5% growth in the number of users accessing government services at least once per week over the past two years.

The UAE has the second highest net perception of service improvement over the past two years globally and ranks first in terms of the highest levels of satisfaction for services in comparison to the private sector, a report said.

About 39.5 per cent more UAE citizens are using these services more often, according to the 2016 Digital Government Survey published by The Boston Consulting Group’s (BCG), a global management consultancy.
