  • AZ: E-government portal fixes over 493,300 visits

    E-government portal recorded 493,845 visits as of 31 January 2014.

    The total number of users made 282,929. They used 820,555 e-services, according to the Information and Calculation center of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan.

    The statistical data is provided beginning from December 2012.

  • AZ: E-government portal introduces new identification system

    The portal Electronic Government has integrated a new identification system allowing citizens to obtain payment copy of a fixed communication services including voice services, Internet services, fixed telephony, etc.

    The Information Computer Center of the Communications and High Technologies Ministry reported that the integration became possible after the improvement of the electronic subsystem of a single e-appeal of the Labor and Social Protection Ministry.

  • AZ: E-government portal to launch mobile platform

    Azerbaijanis will be able to enjoy the opportunities of the Electronic Government portal via their mobile phones in the near future, according to the Information and Computing Center at Communications and High Technologies Ministry reported on September 2.

    The new mobile platform will be available to the public in September. As mobile phone penetration in the country stands at 112 percent, the efficiency of the mobile portal of the e-government is beyond question.

  • AZ: E-government switches to cloud technology

    Azerbaijani electronic government portal will now be available on the cloud, according to Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizade.

    Velizade says Azerbaijan's main efforts are now focused on the use of modern technology so that the ICT sector could contribute to the development of the country in a short period.

  • AZ: E-Mortgage system to be introduced

    President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on several issues of Mortgage Lending.

    The order envisages creating the E-Mortgage system via E-government portal and applying the system beginning from January 1, 2017. The order outlines the procedure of mortgage lending, including easy mortgage lending, at the expense of the Azerbaijan Mortgage Fund.

  • AZ: E-service application for licensure in the ICT field integrated into “e-government” portal

    The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan added e-applications for various licensures into its "e-government" portal (ehdis.az), a report published by the portal said on Wednesday.

    Currently, the ministry offers 25 e-services.

    Also, services provided by the State Committee for Family, Women and Child Affairs are also integrated in the portal. Currently, an online application for international adoption is also available.

  • AZ: E-services in property registration to raise efficiency of public administration

    The system of electronic registration of real estate will contribute to the development of e-government in Azerbaijan.

    The statement came from head of the group of the Real Estate Registration Project in Azerbaijan Malcolm Childress while speaking at the presentation of the e-registration system on Thursday.

    According to him, the system "will become a fundamental element in the field of real estate registration, increase capacity and efficiency of public administration."

  • AZ: E-services of public organizations evaluated anew

    The State Agency for Citizen Service & Social Innovations, acting under the President of Azerbaijan, has completely updated the approaches to evaluating e-services of public organizations.

    By Order #1/1-01 Agency’s chairman Inam Karimov approved the new Rules of evaluation of organization and provision of e-services of public organizations. The Rules began operating since 1 February.

  • AZ: E-signature certificates integrated into new generation ID cards

    New generation electronic ID cards will be introduced in Azerbaijan starting from September 1.

    In the new generation ID cards, which are more secure than older ones, the electronic carrier-chip has been inserted, which includes the citizen's residence, family status information, as well as the identity card owner's biometric photo and other personal data.

  • AZ: E-signature number rises by 5 pct

    The total number of e-digital signatures issued by the Azerbaijani National Certification Services Center increased by 5.8 percent in November and hit 27,536 as of December 1, the Information-Computer Center under the Azerbaijani Communication and High Technologies Ministry reported on December 10.

    Digital signatures make possible the authorship and content of the documents exchanged between organizations.

    The state bodies were provided with 16,616 e-signatures, 4,528 e-signatures were issued to the legal entities and 6,392 to citizens.

  • AZ: Experts not expect increased use of cryptocurrencies

    The expanded use of the Internet all around the world has paved the way for the circulation of virtual currencies. The expansion of e-business in the global economy has led to the creation of a specific demand in cryptocurrency.

    Vugar Bayramov, the Chairman of the Center for Economic and Social Development, believes that despite the development of e-government services in Azerbaijan, a strong expansion in cyrptocurrency is not expected either in Azerbaijan or the rest of the world.

    The expert told local media that there are three reasons behind a low interest in virtual currency.

    The 3rd international “PKI Forum Ukraine 2016” ends today in Kiev, Ukraine, which is the information venue for discussion and exchange of best practices in the spheres of PKI, e-ID and trust services between international experts and representatives of government sector, business and public unions.

    The audience of the forum consists of the representatives of public authorities, cybersecurity specialists, e-ID and signature developers, mobile network operators and providers of online payment services as well as private investors.

  • AZ: First office building with e-government system opens in Baku

    President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has opened a number of administrative and social facilities with unique characteristics in Binagadi district of Baku today. First of all, it concerns the reconstructed administrative building of the Executive Power of the district.

    Binagadi Executive Power’s head Khaleddin Iskenderov says that the office building built in 1970 has been reconstructed since May 2012.

  • AZ: Foreign Ministry joins e-government portal

    The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry joined the e-government portal, it was announced on October 31.

    The news was announced by the Information Computing Centre (ICC) of the Communications and Information Technologies Ministry of Azerbaijan in an interview with Trend.

    As the ICC said, the Foreign Ministry's e-service on reception of documents and applications for the accreditation of foreign journalists is currently integrated into the portal.

  • AZ: Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur: Projects within concept of smart village to be applied in liberated areas

    Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur have turned into a big construction sites. During the past year, foundations of various residential areas, schools, and hospitals were laid in 9 villages, 1 settlement, and 3 city centres in Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan. Those infrastructures and residential complexes will make a significant contribution to the return of people.

    Azernews reports that this was said by Vahid Hajiyev, the special representative of the President in Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts, which are included in the Eastern Zangezur economic district, at the meeting of the working group on environmental issues held in Zangilan.

  • AZ: ICT Ministry accords with ITU over getting planned orbital position

    The Ministry of Communications & IT of Azerbaijan is still negotiating with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) the issues associated with the planned orbital position for the national communications satellite.

    Azercosmos spokesperson Nigar Madatli says that position on 43.2, 58.5 and 96 degrees east longitude was allotted for placing the first Azerbaijani satellite Azerspace-1, Fineko reports.

    Centres of the Communication and Information Technologies Ministry are ready for large-scale application of “electronic signatures”.

    Head of the Development of Information Society department of the Ministry Isfandiyar Aliyev told the statement while commenting on reducing prices for large-scale usage of e-signatures by university entrants, Gun.Az reported referring to the Ministry.
