Statement by Dr. Timothy Harris, minister of foreign affairs of St. Kitts, at the XXXVI general assembly of the OAS held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, 4 – 7 June, 2006.

Mr. Chairman, St. Kitts/Nevis brings to this general assembly a deepened resolve to embrace the global information and knowledge culture and, in this context, a commitment to continue our pursuit of good governance and sustainable development so that our people could share the prosperity which is promised by this new dispensation.

A forum that will address e-government policy formulation and implementation is scheduled for 30 and 31 May at the new NEMA Headquarters.

The focus question for that occasion is: “How can information and communication technologies (ICTs) enable public sector modernisation, improve service delivery and productivity?”
