Despite the obstacles on the way of utilization and management of the information and communications technology (ICT), gaining access to the latest findings and approaches in the sector is of crucial necessity, said Iranian President Khatami, adding that neglecting the technology would mean ignoring one's share of the modern science and technological progress, according to MNA.

Khatami, speaking at a national conference on ICT development and management held in Tehran, added, "I am sure that announcement of the results and achievements of the first ICT development program could create hope and promise for further steps in this regard."

The third and most important phase of the national electronic government project will begin in early 2005, the head of the e-government department of Civil Aviation Organization announced here on Wednesday. Pedram Keshavarzian told ILNA that the giant project will be undertaken in three phases, with phase I completed in late October.
