E-Biz courses will focus on six pillars of the Maltese e-economy and the needs for businesses to evolve in today's modern digital age. Topics will include: e-commerce, e-marketing, e-government services, applications for SMEs, excel spreadsheets and outlook as business tools, as well as effective English for business, and soft skills. The course is free of charge and will be held at various E-Biz regional training centres around Malta and Gozo, including SmartCity Malta.

The course, eBIZ, is being organised by IT training company TCTC, and is being provided free of charge as a result of the patronage of the Economy Ministry and through sponsorships by Bank of Valletta, Business First, GO and SmartCity Malta.
Mr Madelin was in Malta as part of the Going Local initiative. Since the launch of the Digital Agenda for European 2010-2020, visits to individual member states have been taking place, to enable meeting with stakeholders.
There is no getting away from technology; it has become an integral part of our framework. With this in mind, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat launched the Digital Malta Strategy last March which set out a vision to transform Malta into a country, which, by 2020, “will prosper as a digitally-enabled nation in all sectors of society”.
Over 200 participants recently learned how the council promotes locally developed technologies.
Malta has over the past years moved up in the EU innovation scoreboard rankings and the council’s efforts are focused on Malta climbing even further up.
