Google Cloud and the State of Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) announced the formal renewal of their strategic Master Framework Agreement (MFA). Google Cloud and MCIT conducted the signing at MWC Doha, formalizing the reinforced, long-term alliance that provides the secure cloud and advanced AI foundation needed to accelerate the government sector’s digital transformation and realize the ambitious goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Qatari capital has climbed into the top tier of global smart cities in the 2025 edition of the IMD Smart City Index 2025, compiled annually by IMD’s World Competitiveness Centre, with Doha ranking 33rd among 146 cities worldwide.
The index, which rated Doha the third-highest ranked city in the region, assesses cities not just on their infrastructure or digital services, but also on how well those elements translate into everyday life: residents’ perceptions about health and safety, mobility, activities, opportunities, and governance all feed into the score.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has announced the launch of 20 new digital services on its official website, as part of its 2024-2030 strategy aimed at achieving excellence in innovative, user-focused government services through 100% digital transformation.
The initiative aligns with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry said users can now access the new services via its e-services portal using the National Authentication System (NAS), ensuring high standards of data security and confidentiality.
