The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states rank differently and somewhat distantly from each other when it comes to information and communication technologies (ICT). Certainly, this tendency partly reflects the way member states address opportunities and challenges.
This phenomenon is evidenced in the recently released The Global Information Technology Report 2013. The World Economic Forum (WEF) issues the annual report in partnership with INSEAD, a premier business school.

The meeting aimed at developing the coordination and cooperation means between GCC states to achieve the views and aspirations of Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC states in an initiative to move from the Gulf cooperation to the union stage as an embodiment of the concern of the leaders and accomplishing of the aspirations of GCC states.

The meeting is also to discuss development mechanisms for E-Systems of screening expats that would help each GCC country to identify health conditions of expats wishing to enter to any member-country, Dr. Qais Al-Duwairi, Assistant Undersecretary of Public Health Affairs at Ministry of Health, said in a press statement.
