The GCC Secretary-General, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, in his inaugural speech at the meeting, stated that e-transactions have become one of the contributories in communities development and an essential pillar thereof which has a great impact on socio-economic, cultural and political arenas.
The GCC countries took initiatives earlier on and accomplished great strides and made a series of substantial accomplishments in e-government transactions applications intended to increase productivity, improve performance and make transactions much more easier for citizens and alleviate the onus of routine jobs, provide the necessary correct, accurate data in due course of time meanwhile and verify the identity of users, without allowing anybody to have access to or jeopardize anyone else's private data.
The agenda of the meeting include a number of topics pertaining to e-government applications in order to enlighten officials in charge of e-government projects, activate integration amongst GCC-member States and reflect positively on GCC communities in order to become a consolidated, integrated and well-linked unit.
