The declaration also highlights raising local e-government employee capabilities and GCC integration, Kuwait's Minister of Communications and State Minister for Housing Affairs Salem Al-Uthaina, who heads the GCC centralized council for information technology, told KUNA.
The consensus was reached amid the growing international demand for technological development and cooperation, he added.
The meeting also tackled protecting data, easing point-to-point dealings between GCC nationals and the impact of adopting this technology in the development of public services.
The minister said the meeting adopted plans to form a combined GCC network for information technology and electronic financial transactions. It also adopted holding an e-governance conference in collaboration with the European Union, and hosted by Oman.
