The four - Marsabit, Nandi, Vihiga and Lamu counties - now enjoy among others, Orange's Broadband Virtual Private Network (BVPN) solution that keeps clients connected with their workers anywhere, anytime and allows them to transfer data with ultimate ease, speed and without interruption.
This brings the total number of counties on its network to 31.

Njoroge works out of iHub, a working space that hosts developers, designers and others working with technology software. It is one of the most well-known tech hubs in Africa. In just four years since its founding, the iHub has over 13,000 members in its online and off-line community, held close to 500 events and had over 50 companies calling it home.
This follows the development of a mobile-based civil birth registration platform that allows for real-time creation of birth records from any part of the country.
The new system, which has been developed by software company SAP, utilises a combination of biometric scanning and cloud storage to create a database of all children born in Kenya.

CrimsonLogic, a leading provider of eGovernment solutions and services headquartered in Singapore -- under a government contract between Kenya and Singapore, successfully rolled out the Kenya Electronic Single Window System, officially known as Kenya TradeNet. The system is CrimsonLogic's 18th live Trade Facilitation implementation so far, and its first major project in Kenya.

Counties such as Nakuru and Kisumu are in the process of putting up free Wi-Fi hotspots for their residents.
Meanwhile, telecom player Orange Kenya is also helping to setup Wi-Fi services in various regions in the country. Orange, in turn, plans to support county governments with implementing e-security, revenue collection and management, e-health services and online education initiatives.
