  • AE: Abu Dhabi launches online career fair

    The Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC) has launched an online jobs fair that will enable candidates interact with recruiters via Internet-based chat, voice and video conferencing facilities.

    Organised by Jobs Abu Dhabi, an e-government employment initiative, the third Virtual Career Fair (e-Fair) was launched today (June 4), and will run until June 6 at efair.abudhabi.ae. It will be open from 8 am to 4 pm.

    The e-Fair is an online substitute to traditional career fairs that leverages the convenience of the internet to provide an interactive platform for employers and jobseekers.

  • AE: Abu Dhabi Municipality e-services tally grow to 115

    The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has added two more services to the list of its online services through its portal (www.adm.gov.ae), namely Application for Search Certificate on Land Status, and Application for Property Evaluation Certificate.

    Thus, raising the Municipal e-services raise to 115, allowing the public to register and request the services of Town Planning, Infrastructure and Municipal services; making it easier for them to avail themselves of these services wherever and whenever they need it, in an effort to streamline and simplify the procedures and saving time and efforts.

    The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has launched the initial phase of "Makani" service to serve as a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Portal and a focal point of information and spatial data-related assets.

    The Portal is set to provide easy access to a vital pool of information that helps cut short transactions processing time and cost besides eliminating any overlapping or duplication of processes. It also supports taking informed decisions in a speedy '&' dynamic manner using latest technological systems in a process that echoes the Municipality's Mission of delivering top quality, effective and customer-centric services.

  • AE: Abu Dhabi Municipality Launches Digital Geological Maps For Building Permits

    The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has launched a Geospatial Information Management System, GIMS, a sophisticated smart electronic system for soil database that contains all geotechnical, geophysical, hydrological and environmental data, displayed on interactive geological maps.

    The project has been undertaken in the context of the Abu Dhabi Emirate’s vision, a strategic plan designed particularly for the development of Abu Dhabi. It is also intended to complement the Emirate's future vision and establish a modern society and a competitive, sustainable and globally open economy with an advanced and innovative digital system.

  • AE: Abu Dhabi Municipality offers ‘Ardi’ service for identifying land plots

    The Customer Service Division at the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has started offering of ‘Ardi’ (My Land) service to furnish individuals with information about the locations of land plots, districts and maps of Abu Dhabi city and conurbation.

    The service is offered via an interactive electronic touch screen offering all information related to zones, land plots, locations and aerial images of the area under investigation. The service offering comes in the context of the Municipality’s Mission of delivering top quality, effective and customer-oriented services standards under a strategy of seeking continuous advancement, and introducing cutting-edge technology capable of enhancing the performance levels and realizing customer needs in a smooth and hassle-free experience built on world-class standards.

  • AE: Abu Dhabi Police GHQ website wins two e-government shield awards

    The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ website (www.adpolice.gov.ae) won two awards as part of the e-government shield award competition, for the best websites, namely; the 'Technical Innovation Award' and the 'Best Strategic Website' in the Security and Military Institutions Category.

    The award is granted by the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility, in partnership with the Arab Web Awards Academy in the Arab Region and Tatweej Academy for quality and excellence.

  • AE: Abu Dhabi Police ICT Department Obtains ISO 20000 Certification

    The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Department of Abu Dhabi Police has obtained the ISO 20000 Management of IT Operations Certification. It is worth mentioning that this is considered to be one of the best international standard certifications for excellence in the field ofIT service management, and is based on (ITIL) standards. The department managed to obtain this accreditation after successfully passing athree-day external audit that was recently conducted by TUV Rheinland and carrying out preparations that lasted for more than a year.

    Colonel Anwar Abdullah Al Mulla, Head of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department of Abu Dhabi Police, noted that obtaining this prestigious certification is a result of the police leadership’s support and guidance. “It also comes in pursuance of Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy to implement international best practices. It embodies the effortsmade by the work teams and the department’s employees to achieve leadership and excellence in the provision of services in accordance with the best international practices,” explained Al Mulla.

    The new digital platform aims to boost trade

    Abu Dhabi Ports has launched Maqta Gateway, a digital platform which provides digital services to different entities including shipping agents, traders, freight forwarders, custom brokers among others to boost trade and efficiency.

    The new system was inaugurated in the presence of Shaikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court on Tuesday.

    Dubai climbs to 12th in IMD's global ranking of 124 cities

    Abu Dhabi has broken into the world's top 10 smartest cities in a new ranking as the emirate continues with its digital transformation agenda.

    The UAE capital climbed three places from last year to 10th in the Smart City Index 2024 compiled by Switzerland's International Institute for Management Development (IMD), which was released on Tuesday.

  • AE: Abu Dhabi ranks as Smartest City in MENA region

    Abu Dhabi has been ranked the “Smartest City in the MENA Region” for the second consecutive year in the annual IMD-SUTD Smart City Index (SCI) released today in collaboration between the IMD (Institute for Management Development) World Competitiveness Center and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).

    According to the new report, Abu Dhabi has risen 14 places to 28th in the global smart cities ranking. Almost 15,000 city dwellers were surveyed in 118 cities around the world. They were asked about the performance of their respective cities in terms of health and safety, mobility, activities, work and school, and governance.

    Abu Dhabi has been ranked 11th in the Global Technology Index based on the World Digital Competitiveness Yearbook 2020 released by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), represented by the Competitiveness Office of Abu Dhabi (COAD), and the Department of Government Support – Abu Dhabi (DGS), represented by the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA).

    Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange has successfully finished the necessary preparations to ensure a strong and distinguished participation in the Thirty Fifth Edition of Gitex of the 2015 season. The event is organized at Dubai World Trade Center part of Abu Dhabi E-government Corner in the period between 18th and 22nd of October, 2015 within a platform that was specifically designed for this purpose. Abu Dhabi E-government Corner includes many governmental bodies and institutions that are part of Abu Dhabi Government. These bodies will introduce the Event's visitors to a unique digital experience whereby they will shed light on the latest applications and software that make life in the Emirate much more convenient and safe, and provide an environment that is suitable for both locals and residents alike.

  • AE: Abu Dhabi Spatial Data Infrastructure Community discusses development of Government services

    The Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Center (ADSIC) has organized a regular meeting of the Abu Dhabi Spatial Data Infrastructure (AD-SDI) community. As one of the key initiatives of the Abu Dhabi e-government program, AD-SDI facilitates the exchange of spatial data between government agencies and other stakeholders. Since the inception of AD-SDI in 2007, its community members have been committed to periodically discussing the program's current status and latest developments and achievements, in addition to identifying activities and initiatives that should be implemented for its further development.

    The latest meeting was held recently and was attended by nearly 100 representatives from 52 entities representing AD-SDI's membership. Achieving further progress and growth in Government services and enabling them spatially topped the agenda of the sessions held in Abu Dhabi.

The campaign encourages residents, businesses and tourists to use its website portal, a key initiative launched by ADSIC, to facilitate people’s access to Abu Dhabi’s public entities.

    The “Government Services at your Fingertips” campaign concept is a direct call for action for people residing in Abu Dhabi to effortlessly log on to the site to get instant access to government related services and information.

    A recent report issued by Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC) shows remarkable business results and reinforces the centre's vital importance in the development of information and communication technology in Abu Dhabi.

    The report highlights the efforts of 55 Abu Dhabi-based entities and 44 federal government authorities that currently provide UAE citizens with 1114 different services through the Abu Dhabi e-Government Portal (www.abudhabi.ae).

    Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC), the pioneering Government entity responsible for the UAE capital’s ICT agenda and transformation efforts, has revealed the Centre’s new and improved e-Government strategy for 2015 and beyond, during its hosting of the 6th edition of the Abu Dhabi e-Government Forum, under the theme ‘Towards a Digital Abu Dhabi’, which took place at the St. Regis Hotel, Corniche on 9th June 2015.

    The Forum and its outcomes represents years of steadfast work, efforts and commitment to achieve distinction through a series of pioneering initiatives that have been design to support and boost ICT modernization across Abu Dhabi. It was also an ideal platform to showcase the latest milestones achieved by ADSIC’s strategic partners, who include Government entities and educational institutions, as the Forum is considered a dynamic knowledge-sharing platform that bring together ICT experts, both locally and internationally, to exchange insights and assist in transferring knowledge to the UAE’s capital.

    The Zakat Fund and Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC) held a press conference on the morning of 05/01/2011 at the headquarters of the Zakat Fund in Abu Dhabi to launch the Zakat payment service via the Abu Dhabi e-Government Portal and sign a memorandum of understanding in the field of spatial data, designed to guide the well-wishers to the nearest Zakat payment or donations points in all fields and channels of goodness.

    This conference was attended by H.E. Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director General of ADSIC, and H.E. Abdullah Bin Oqeidah Al Muheiry, General Secretary of the Zakat Fund.

    Abu Dhabi’s ranking is credited to the emirate’s infrastructure and digital services available to residents

    Abu Dhabi has been named the smartest city in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for the year 2023 in the IMD Smart City Index released by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD).

    The study, which IMD developed with the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), surveyed 120 residents in 118 cities worldwide.
