Coordinated by the RDEC Minister Sung Yu-hsieh, the national conference of IT chiefs from all levels of government organizations across Taiwan provides the key platform for nationwide e-government services.
Sung said the meeting, held at the New Taipei City Government headquarters last week, enabled government officials and agencies to exchange experiences as well as to enhance cooperation and the integration of electronic information systems to lift the quality and convenience of government administrative services.
IT chiefs at state-owned enterprises, educational and research institutions, and banking and insurance groups were also among the 200 participants of the conference.
In addition to New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu, several senior officials and experts were invited to address the gathering.
They included Cabinet Minister Chang Shan-cheng, who also serves as the chief information officer of the Executive Yuan, and information service specialists from universities and other government ministries.
Chang outlined the future directions for upgrading the overall information service environment as well as cultivating high-caliber human resources in IT fields.
The experts shared their views and experiences in elevating to cloud computing operations in order to advance and innovate the services related to knowledge, learning, environment and all aspects of people's daily activities.
RDEC officials said the active discussions among participants at the conference will help further the commission's efforts to integrate and streamline e-government services at the national and local levels throughout Taiwan and outlying islands.
