A total 70 projects will vie for the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment this time.

With the closing of entries for the fourth edition, the awards will include 58 projects from 27 government entities and seven from an equal number of private organisations. This is in addition to five projects from SMEs participating for the first time, according to ITA officials.

Director of operational excellence Fatma Al Riyamia said, “The award committee has started assessing the projects. Assessors have made site visits and will communicate their findings to the jury panel tabout the findings. Public voting for certain projects will be on from October 27 to 29 through www.ita.gov.om/hmaward. Five lucky winners will receive 100 rials. These and other adjudging methods serve in pre-evaluating.”

About the jury evaluation, Al Riyamia said that it would be done from November 1 till 5.

The jury will have 11 international members besides two Omanis. The winning projects will be announced in December.
