Transforming Government since 2001

Peachtree Corners – one of the United States’ first 5G smart cities powered by real-world connected infrastructure – today announced an integration of NVIDIA technologies to further expand smart city capabilities.

NVIDIA L4 Tensor Core GPUs will combine with NxGo’s innovative traffic management solution within Curiosity Lab’s advanced 5G smart city ecosystem, enabling transformative improvements in real-time AI and edge computing capabilities.

Currently deployed in Curiosity Lab’s Innovation Center, each Dell server is paired with three NVIDIA GPUs, which manage and analyze data from an extensive network of smart city sensors and devices across Peachtree Corners. NVIDIA L4 GPUs will enable Curiosity Lab’s ecosystem to accelerate applications for intelligent traffic solutions, crowd management, and city operational improvements. The L4 GPUs deliver a 120-fold increase in AI-powered video analytics performance compared to traditional CPU-based solutions. This allows companies to efficiently test, deploy, and demo in the city while gaining real-time insights to improve search relevance, detect content of interest and implement smart-space development. The L4 Tensor Core GPUs also provide precision performance to accelerate deep learning and machine learning and inference for data analytics, rendering and videos to further support AI-based smart city solutions in the Curiosity Lab ecosystem.

The Curiosity Lab is expanding its infrastructure with NVIDIA accelerated computing for physical AI to support a growing ecosystem of smart city solutions that leverage the NVIDIA software stack - including NVIDIA Metropolis and NVIDIA NIM. Access to the latest in NVIDIA GPUs will be increasingly vital to the City of Peachtree Corners as they accelerate the latest in Physical AI, ranging from vision AI, generative AI, chatbots, physical simulation, and digital twin capabilities.

  • Brian Johnson, City Manager: As we continue to welcome new smart city innovations, partners and members, we want to ensure we are offering companies the best in IT operations to further the growth of their technologies.
  • Brandon Branham, Curiosity Lab Executive Director: Our next growth phase is focused on bridging the physical city world environment and AI and giving our smart city ecosystem access to an advanced computing stack powered by NVIDIA.
