Dr. Hessa Al Jaber is the first-ever Minister of Information and Communications Technology in Qatar following the formation of the nation’s new Cabinet by H.H. the Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani in 2013.
She is the third Qatari woman to assume a ministerial position in the state. In 2013, Dr. Al Jaber was listed among the 500 most powerful Arabs in the world by Arabian Business magazine, then ranked 20th on the 2013 Arabian Business’ list of 100 most powerful Arab women.

Mobile device users can now access and use e-Services and information provided at Hukoomi portal (www.gov.qa) by downloading and installing Hukoomi Mobile App on their smartphones and tablets.
The app was launched yesterday by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology’s (ictQATAR) ICT Government Programmes.
It is an extra interactive channel between Hukoomi and its users, targeting faster and easier e-Services and information needed to be available and accessible anytime anywhere, and is part of a continued improvement of the portal, said Tareq Alemadi, Manager, E-Government Portal Department.
ictQATAR, the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, has launched the Hukoomi Mobile App that will facilitate access, to the e-services and other information from the Hukoomi portal, through smartphones and tablets.
The new app, which can be downloaded and installed from the online stores of the smartphone platforms, is available both in English and Arabic.

Qatar will launch a new Hukoomi portal by the first quarter of next year, revealed an official of ictQATAR, the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology.
Speaking to Gulf Times yesterday on the sidelines of the launch of the Hukoomi Mobile App, Tareq Alemadi, manager, E-Government Portal Department, ictQATAR said that the new Hukoomi portal will be completely different from the existing one.
“Hukoomi 3 will be the Google of Qatar. It will be totally different. It will have more technology. It will much easier for the people to access and get information from the portal.”
