    Die Einführung moderner Informationstechnik in der öffentlichen Verwaltung ist beschlossene Sache. Um dabei sinnvoll, effektiv und kostensparend vorzugehen, müssen die künftigen Nutzer in Wirtschaft und Verwaltung über neueste Entwicklungen im IT-Bereich auf dem laufenden sein und die Erfahrungen kennen, die andere mit bestimmten Lösungen bereits gemacht haben.
  • Brunei: Conference On The Next Step Of E-Government

    Over 100 government officials attended a conference yesterday on "e-Government: The Next Step" at Empire Hotel and Country Club.

    It was aimed at providing them with an insight into the best practices for implementing e-Government around the world and their latest developments.

    Organised in collaboration with partners Quint Wellington Redwood, Versa PAC Sdn Bhd and iCo-op.netPte Ltd, the event was also held by Computer Associates International to enhance participants' awareness on the topic with its focuses on cooperation and a case study.

  • Brunei: UBD To Host International Conference On Business, Management

    On January 8 and 9, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) will host the International Conference on Business and Management at its Chancellor Hall.

    Among the topics to be discussed will be Beyond Managing e-Government Projects by Dr Yong Chee Tuan from UBD's Department of Business and Management.

    According to Dr Yong Chee Tuan, e-Government is a journey that focuses on the deployment of information Technology (IT) to enhance services with core activities that include the adoption and implementation of appropriate IT.

    Real estate professionals from Abaco, Exuma, Long Island and Nassau logged on and leaned in for an informative presentation about the county’s e-government portal today during the first-ever, country-wide webinar to members of the Bahamas Real Estate Association.

    Presented by Carol Roach, Deputy Director of Information Technology in the Ministry of Finance, the e-government seminar educated brokers, agents, appraisers and developers on the five transactional features currently on the site: real property tax payments, driver’s licence renewals, vendor inquiries, traffic fine payments and online customer service. Future upgrades to the site include web presence of the Bahamas Postal Service, Cabinet & Disaster Management (NEMA), and the Department of Marine Resources.

  • China: Konferenz zu E-Government in Shanghai

    Chinesische Experten haben sich zu einem zweitägigen Symposium zum Thema "E-Government" in Shanghai getroffen.

    "Die entsprechenden Internetseiten der meisten Behörden und Provinzen helfen den Regierungen die Leute besser zu erreichen und machen so die Verwaltungsarbeit transparenter und effizienter", sagte der stellvertretende Direktor der Büros für Informationstechnologie des Staatsrates, Chen Dawei.

  • China: Meeting discusses online government

    Over 100 representatives in charge of the major e-government projects throughout the country are sharing their experiences at the National E-government Work Meeting, which began yesterday in Shanghai and ends today.

    Chen Dawei, deputy director of the Information Technology Office of the State Council, said, "The e-government websites in most provinces have helped the local governments more easily reach local residents and therefore make the administrative work more transparent and efficient."

    Staatssekretärin Rogall-Grothe unterstreicht die Bedeutung von Vernetzung und Kooperation von Bund, Ländern und Kommunen.

    Die Beauftragte der Bundesregierung für Informationstechnik, Cornelia Rogall-Grothe hat sich am 28. November im Rahmen des diesjährigen eGovernment Summit auf dem Bonner Petersberg für eine stärkere Kooperation im Bereich der öffentlichen IT in Deutschland ausgesprochen. "Die Bereitschaft zur Zusammenarbeit – vernetzt und ebenenübergreifend – müssen wir in allen Ebenen stärken. Dies gilt sowohl für die IT-Infrastruktur, als auch die Fachanwendungen des E-Governments", betonte die Staatssekretärin.

    In order to make the government policy, administration and service delivery more efficient, effective, transparent and accountable ,Information and communication technologies have proven to play an increasingly prominent role not only in developed parts of the world but also in developing countries. ICTs such as mobile phones, TV, radio in addition to computers and internet have been able to reach traditionally excluded communities, and allow a much larger participation in national decision making than had hitherto been possible. The Fair will take place during 4-6 March 2010.

    The vision Of “Digital Bangladesh” is unique as it proposes ICTs as a pro-poor tool. In regard to this vision, Access to Information Programme is an e-governance umbrella initiative which plans and coordinates the ongoing and future activities across various ministries and agencies of the government to utilize ICTs as a tool to make government services hassle-free, faster,cheaper, more inclusive and at citizens doorsteps.

  • eGovernment forum begins in Bahrain

    The eighth Bahrain International eGovernment Forum opens today at the Isa Cultural Centre and Bahrain International Circuit.

    Held under the patronage of Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the five-day event aims to bring together the brightest minds and latest solutions in eGovernment, with a particular focus on the private sector and the theme "Smart Cities - Beyond Innovation", reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

  • Electronic Solutions for Improvement of Civil Service Efficiency in Bosnia and Herzegovina

    Around 500 participants, mostly civil servants and ICT experts from BiH have opened today the Second eGovernment Conference in BiH, entitled Domestic solutions for eGovernment. This two-day conference was opened in the newly-reconstructed Big Parliamentary Hall of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The organizers are Agency for Civil Service and UNDP in BiH, together with the leading industry partners in the field, from BiH.

    The goal of this conference is to spur development of civil service in terms of the ICT usage as a tool for increasing effectiveness and efficiency of the civil services. Due to that, it is necessary to present the solutions applied in local institutions to the participants of the conference.

  • EU: The sixth Ministerial eGovernment Conference is taking place in Poland

    The Polish Presidency of the European Union and the European Commission are organising in close co-operation the sixth Ministerial eGovernment Conference, entitled "Borderless eGovernment Services for Europeans". During the conference, key European eGovernment decision makers will meet in Poland to talk about the future of eGovernment.

    Key European eGovernment decision makers will meet in Poznań (Poland) to talk about the future of eGovernment. European Ministers responsible for eGovernment will hold an Informal Ministerial Meeting, where they will exchange views on the future of Borderless Services, the development of the Large Scale Projects, the Connecting Europe Facility and other key issues related to the development and up-take of eGovernment services in Europe. The "Borderless eGovernment Services for Europeans" conference will be celebrated on 17-18 November 2011. The European Council supports eGovernment services, as it was agreed during its meeting held in May 2011.

  • Experts at GCC forum emphasise adapting to global trends

    Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group (ADUKG) launched the “GCC e- Participation and e-Governance Forum” on Monday, bringing together more than 200 government representatives, decision-makers, and e-Government leaders, who debated various techniques of boosting government e-services and e-Participation strategies in the GCC region, so that they adapt global trends and advancements locally.

    As the leading-government gathering of key government bodies in the UAE and GCC, the two-day forum presents a unique platform to tackle the challenges that face authorities in delivering the latest trends in e-services to a technology savvy and demanding public.

    Vor allem auch angesichts der zunehmenden Notlage der medizinischen Versorgung auf dem flachen Land steht das Stichwort „Telemedizin“ in der Prignitz mehr und mehr im Fokus. Etwa will auch Pritzwalk mit der Stadt Wittstock im kooperativen Mittelzentrum Konzepte entwickeln, wie Telemedizin nutzbar wird.

    Dieses Thema stellt nun auch die Fachhochschule Brandenburg in den Mittelpunkt einer Tagung, zu der zahlreiche Experten eingeladen sind. Vorrangig geht es um den Informationsaustausch zwischen den Patienten und Ärzten sowie um die Kommunikation zwischen den Partnern der medizinischen Versorgung von den Krankenhäusern bis hin zu den Spezialisten der Informationstechnologie.

  • GCC e-govt conference 'a great success'

    Participants in the second e-government conference of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) concurred that this year's session was a great success. In statements following the closing ceremony, Head of the Central Agency for Information Technology Abdul-Latif Al-Sarea said that more than 30 specialized bodies have taken part in the event and 85 projects were competing on the e-government prize.

    Al-Sarea expressed admiration of the constructive discussions and exchange of experience among participants. He noted that the CAIT will compile and publish a book and CD including the conference working papers due to its importance. Al-Sarea voiced gratitude for His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah for his patronage of the conference and Acting Minister of Information and Communications Salem Metheeb Al-Uthayna for his attendance in the opening ceremony and visit to the exhibition held on the sidelines of the event.

    Vom 4. bis 7. September 2002 ist die Universität Potsdam wieder einmal Gastgeber einer großen internationalen Konferenz. Die European Group of Public Administration (EGPA) wird ihre diesjährige Jahrestagung an der Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Uni am Standort Babelsberg abhalten, und zwar unter dem Generalthema „The European Administrative Space: Governance in Diversity".

    At the monthly Global Forum for Electronic Governance (GFeG) held in Seoul on August 31, the attendees discussed “New Governance Structure and IT Policy in the Era of Big Data Sharing.” IT Times and UNPOG sponsored the event.

    Acting Head of UNPOG Alexei Tikhomirov opened with his welcoming remark. Next, upon “Domestic Issues & Agenda”, Sang-oh Yun from Dankuk University and Young-Im Cho of Suwon University took turns under each theme “New Governance Structure in the Era of Big Data Sharing” and “Big Data Sharing Strategies for the Next Generation E-Government.” Also Solideo Systems’ use of “Big Data” was introduced under its theme “ Best Practices and Strategies.” For “International Issues & Agenda”, UNPOG’s Tikhomirov and Seunghwan Seung from Inha University under his topic “Open Government: Issues & Global Cooperation” continued.

  • Global e-gov't forum kicks off in South Korea

    Hundreds of government officials and experts from some 50 countries gathered in South Korea on Tuesday to take part in a United Nations-backed forum on electronic government, organizers said.

    The Global e-Government Forum 2013, co-hosted by the U.N. and South Korea's Ministry of Security and Public Administration, kicked off earlier in the day in Ilsan, just north of Seoul, for a two-day run.

    Under the theme of "Smart Government and Smart Society: Openness, Sharing, Communication and Collaboration," the forum, the second of its kind, is expected to be a venue for "comprehensive discussions on e-government's role as well as trends in the new era," the ministry said.
