  • AE: A delegation of 17 Korean Government officials visit Emirates eGovernment

    Emirates eGovernment welcomed a team of 17 delegates from the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, Republic of Korea, who was here to learn about the eGovernment programme in the UAE.

    Mohamed Ismaeel, Director of Operations and Production, Emirates eGovernment welcomed the South Korean delegation led by Lee Jee-Yun of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security and Kyu-Taek Ji, Economic Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the UAE.

  • AE: Salem Al Shair discusses co-ordination in field of eGovernment with South Korean delegation

    Director General of General Information Authority (GIA) HE Salem Khamis Al Shair on Sunday, March 7, 2010 received in the GIA headquarters in Abu Dhabi a South Korean delegation headed by Jongwon Yoon, Director General of the National Information Society Agency, which is the consulting and executive body of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security in the Republic of South Korea.

    The two parties discussed the items of understanding and co-ordination to be incorporated in the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on eGovernment scheduled to be signed between both parties in Abu Dhabi end of April.

  • ASEAN Plus 3 e-govt center likely to be set up in Seoul

    South Korea Thursday proposed creating an integrated ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Plus Three (China, South Korea and Japan) e-government center in Seoul next year on the sidelines of an international meeting on better governance being held here, reported South Korean Yonhap News Agency.

    The e-government center proposal was presented to the "ASEAN Plus Three Senior Officials' Meeting on Creative Management for Government" held in Seoul on the sidelines of the UN-sponsored Sixth Global Forum on Reinventing Government, which kicked off four-day meeting on Tuesday.

  • AZ: ASAN Service, Korea Interior Ministry sign memorandum

    State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation on providing e-government and state services.

    The memorandum of understanding was signed by Inam Karimov, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Hong Yun-sik, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Korea, APA reported.

  • AZ: Azerbaijan, Korea discuss smart city project

    Azerbaijan and Korea discussed the current status of negotiations on projects in the fields of innovation and smart cities, which will be implemented by Azerbaijan's Digital Development and Transport Ministry in collaboration with the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).

    The discussion took place during a meeting between Azerbaijani Digital Development and Transport Minister Rashad Nabiyev and Korean ambassador Lee Eun Yong.

  • AZ: South Korea and Azerbaijan signs grant agreement on ICT sphere

    Today, $3.7 mln-grant agreement was signed between Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Azerbaijani Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies on “establishment of training center for e-government in Azerbaijan” in Baku.

    According to APA-Economics, within the project, the training centers will be established in 15 regions including Baku, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Sumgayit, Mingechevir, Barda, Lankaran, Gazakh, Imishli, Gabala, Goychay, Shirvan, Shamakhi, Guba, Shaki.

  • AZ: South Korea, Azerbaijan sign $3.7 mln grant agreement under e-government project

    Azerbaijan's Communication and Information Technologies Ministry and the Foreign Ministry of South Korea on Thursday signed a $3.7 million grant agreement on the creation of training centers under an electronic government project in Azerbaijan.

    The ICT Ministry is developing a draft state program on the development of e-government for 2013-2015. The draft program will be presumably submitted to the Presidential Administration by the end of April. The new program is continuation of the state program on developing the ICT sector in Azerbaijan in 2010-2012.

  • Azerbaijan boosts public sector ties with South Korea

    Azerbaijan and Korea are bolstering joint efforts to offer better services in public administration on the occasion of Interior Minister Hong Yun-sik's latest visit to Azerbaijan. The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Seoul said last week that Hong attended a forum in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku from Aug. 18 to 20 to discuss ways of using information and communications technology (ICT) to improve the public administration system with relevant officials there. Hong signed a memorandum of understanding concerning mutual cooperation in e-governance with Inam Karimov, chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations. Hong also met Prime Minister Artur Rasizade and Communications and High Technologies Minister Ramin Guluzade.

  • Azerbaijan, South Korea consider opportunities to expand cooperation in ICT sphere

    Azerbaijanand Koreaconsider the perspectives of development of the bilateral cooperation in the sphere of information and communication technologies, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Communications and IT Elmir Valizade said July 28.

    He said issues will be considered during the two-day joint workshop on ICT, which started today. The Korean side's delegation includes representatives from 22 enterprises and companies.

  • Azerbaijan’s Communication Ministry signs grant agreement in E-government project

    On Thursday the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan signed a grant agreement worth $3.7 million with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea on the creation of training centres under the e-government project in Azerbaijan.

    The project includes the creation of 15 training centres in the regions. These will be established in Ganja, Nakhchivan, Sumgait, Mingachevir, Barda, Lankaran, Gazakh, Zagatala, Imishli, Gabala, Goychay, Shirvan, Shamakhi, Guba and Sheki.

  • Belarus looks to emulate Korea’s public administration

    Belarus is a young country. The country’s independence from the Soviet Union is only 20 years old and its governing system is still under development.

    The European state recently found a model state to follow in Asia: South Korea. And it is making great efforts to emulate everything from Korea’s public administration to economic policies.

    “Belarus is a pearl in a shell,” said Anatoly N. Morozevich, president of the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of Belarus. “We want to open the shell with help from Korea and show the pearl to the outside world.”

  • Belarus to make use of Korea’s e-government practices

    Belarus is expected to make an active use of Korea’s e-government practices. The relevant issues were discussed in a meeting between Belarus Presidential Aide Vsevolod Yanchevsky and a delegation of experts from the Republic of Korea in Minsk on 19 March.

    The goal of the two-week visit is study in detail the history, status and development plans for electronic government in Belarus. Korean experts will help form a roadmap for e-government development taking into account the existing advanced technologies and solutions. The delegation has comprised representatives of Samsung SDS, the Korea National Information Society Agency (NIA) and the Korea Information Certificate Authority.

  • Belarus to thoroughly study South Korea's IT development experience

    Belarus considers Korean experience of developing information technologies as a priority for studying and putting into practice. The statement was made by Belarusian First Deputy Information Technologies and Communications Minister Dmitry Shedko during the IT business forum held in Minsk on 23 April for representatives of the Republic of Korea, CIS and Baltic states, BelTA has learned.

    According to the source, Belarus prioritizes studying and putting into practice the South Korean experience of developing information technologies. “We appreciate the open nature of multilateral interaction within the framework of existing relations between our countries as well as the contribution of the Republic of Korea to the development of cooperation with Belarus,” said Dmitry Shedko.

  • Belarus, S Korea to share best practices in e-government

    The Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Korea will share best practices in the field of electronic government, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea to Belarus Kang Weon Sik told a press conference on 27 February, BelTA has learnt.

    “A big Korean delegation is set to visit Belarus in March. The delegation will include representatives of government agencies and private companies. They will come here to discuss implementation of the e-government system,” the diplomat said.
