Geo-spatial technologies are those technologies that include global positioning systems (GPS), geographical information systems (GIS), light distance and ranging (LIDAR) together with remotely sensed satellite images of the landscape. They are being used around the world by, local and regional and national governments for the purpose of e-government initiatives.
