The Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) participates in the International Forum on E-Government to be held in Singapore, upon an official invitation of Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA).

CAIT Deputy Director General Qusai Ibrahim Al-Shatti said in remarks to the media on Wednesday that this forum coincides with launching of the national plan of Singapore of electronic government for 2011-1015.

This strategy is aimed at establishing cooperation between the governmental entities and interaction with citizens, especially concerning the governmental policy, he stated.

The CAIT participation in the event is a great opportunity for getting acquainted with the emerging trends and employing modern concepts of best practices in the field of information technology in general and in the sector of e-government in particular, Al-Shatti said.

The forum also aims at forming a shared environment between the governmental sector, institution and individuals to enhance cooperation through a new electronic services environment, he said. The forum is to be held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Singapore, while three fairs will be organized on the sidelines of the event, on information technology, communications and media.

The delegation of CAIT will hold a meeting with IDA as part of the memorandum of understanding, signed between the two sides, to discuss means of cooperation and aspects of mutual benefits.
