Before the Christmas holidays, Furzefield's Year 6 wrote persuasive letters to their head teacher, Mrs Chrysanthou, asking for a new set of technology that could change their learning for good.
In return, she accepted the children's plea and, after the year of 2014 had passed, their wish was granted.
Included with the tablets, the teachers also managed to obtain head-phones, keyboards and styluses.
This month the children have adjusted to using these new study aids. Though they haven't received all their equipment, they are enjoying the time they have spent working on them so far.
As well as having them at school, the children are allowed to take the Learn Pads home under strict adult supervision.
They are not expecting any privacy for they are not alone and are being watched by their teachers on their every move.

The teachers have blocked all apps that do not help with education (YouTube, Facebook, Gmail, most of Google and many more). This tablet is for constructive use only.
The children were interviewed by some of their peers on what they thought about the tablets.
One said: "They're cool and helpful to teach you responsibility", while another added: "They're great because they have an educational purpose".
They also interviewed some of the staff, who said: "I think they're splendid"; "Hopefully they will be educationally enhancing"; "They provide an amazing opportunity for interactive learning"; "I think they're brilliant because they allow the children to access work which they would otherwise think uncool".
The head teacher said: "I'm delighted the children are thoroughly enjoying their learning both at home and at school, and are taking such great care of their very expensive tablets."
After a month or two, the children have become attached to their Learn Pads.
All the teachers are exceptionally satisfied with the results so far.
Hopefully, the parents and carers will be just as content as many of their children and their tutors.
