A Gower primary school has been recognised for its development of information and communications technology (ICT).

Pennard primary pupils use computers and the internet for many purposes, including research, maths games, and recording and presenting information.

Now, following an assessment, the school has been awarded an ICT Mark.

Headteacher Sharon Freeguard said: "We believe that ICT can be used in every aspect of learning and that it is essential our children are equipped for the dynamic world in which we live.

"All the children and staff deserve credit for this achievement."

School ICT co-ordinator Catherine Dardecker: "We are very proud to include the mark on our website and our mailings and this has been noted on a number of occasions."
