- A concise guide to Flexible Working
- The ‘Lessons Learnt' report
- A detailed report developed for the London Association of Directors of Social Services entitled “Achieving Efficiency Gains through Flexible Working in Social Services”.
“This guide will help managers establish sound plans to implement good operational practice procedures and technology to support staff operating away from permanent offices. It can be applied to working at home or at other mobile locations” said Ian Laughton, Nomad Director.
The second new product is a summary of lessons learnt, pulled together from the many Nomad and local authority case studies which document both positive and negative outcomes. The result is an easy to read, combination of experience and guidance points set down under a number of relevant headings, such as Technology Selection and Organisational Change.
Nomad will launch the products alongside showcasing successful mobile solutions that have been applied in local authority service areas in the distinctive Nomad Mobile Working Village, supported by the engagement of over 25 supplier exhibitors and sponsored by Nokia, T-Mobile and Kirona Solutions.
The Nomad Forum has now developed a Scottish Group with a membership of 40 local authority representatives from all over Scotland.
Work with the Regional Centres of Excellence is gaining momentum around new collaboration projects and the capture of ‘hard evidence' for efficiency savings.
The growth of mobile working has increased significantly in the past two years, with virtually all local authorities now involved with mobile projects in some respect.
Nomad's has received its own recognition for the promotion of mobile and flexible working by having over 2000 local authority registered users of the Nomad website. Analysis of users has resulted in 100% coverage in all 388 English local authorities.
New activities for Nomad include the development of evidence and business cases for flexible working. Nomad will continue to disseminate new information on business cases, case studies covering all areas of mobile and flexible working during 2006.
