Local authorities are to be given 'e-government toolkits', in an £80m investment to help them move services online. The toolkits will be models for developing successful online services, based on work done by forward-thinking Councils. The first will be based on Wandsworth Borough Council's e-planning model, which has developed into a £4.5m national project.
An initial twelve projects were approved by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister last week, and more are planned.
