In Togo, 200km of fiber optic planned under the government’s e-government project has been laid in Lomé, the capital. The high tech network should be operational by the end of 2016 and will connect 500 administrative sites such as ministries, public agencies, airport, hospitals and universities.
Works for the installation of the infrastructure were undertaken by Huawei at a cost of $25 million. By connecting public administrations to the fiber optic, Togo would make public services more efficient.
The fiber optic line will make processing of all databases and data entries faster, raising efficiency and boosting the economy.
