"Not disillusioned by the hurdles such as the lack of an enabling environment and incentive to induce passion, they have also taken additional steps to acquire another level of technical and/or administrative competence as IT professionals in their service to our nation," minister Norkeh noted.
He extended appreciation to USAID-GEMS for their sponsorship and support and said: "the challenge is ours collectively, as Liberians, to make the difference in our governance practices without taking such ownership; intervention by our development partners will not yield the needed results".
According to him, the graduation will enable their staff to develop the competence necessary for putting in place solid foundation for future development of our sector.
Minister Norkeh indicated that IT will also promote the means by which national ICT policy is implemented with focus on enhancing internal operations across government, and also facilitating service delivery to the public can be achieved.
"I consider these people whose use of ICT is sure to translate our vision into building a transparent public sector as the pillar upon which the integrity of our public sector reform is hinged," the Post and Telecommunications Minister asserted.
Madam Victoria Cooper-Enchia, Chief of Party, USAID-GEMS assured that USAID-GEMS will continue its support to the people of Liberia in order to enhance ICT use in Liberia's Public Sector.
