Transforming Government since 2001
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Swaziland in Washington, D.C., announced today the launch of its new web site. The site can be found at www.swazilandembassyus.com.

"In the 21st century, information that is not readily available on the World Wide Web might simply not exist at all," said Ambassador Ephraim M. Hlophe. "With his eye on the future, His Majesty King Mswati III has directed all government agencies to utilize modern technology to the greatest extent possible. As part of this mandate to promote 'eGovernment,' we decided to provide a single, easy-to-find source for Americans -- and others -- seeking to learn about the Kingdom of Swaziland."

The web site includes downloadable visa application forms, contact information for the Embassy and its counterparts overseas, biographical sketches of His Majesty King Mswati III and the Queen Mother, a list of Swazi holidays, and brief descriptions of Swaziland's people, geography, government, and economy. The site features links to major Swazi newspapers and other, more comprehensive sources of information.

"The new web site is a virtual entryway to Swaziland," said Ambassador Hlophe.

In a welcome message posted on the web site, Ambassador Hlophe says: "We hope you will use this web site as a resource ... Information for travelers is included here, and there are links to the Swaziland Tourism Authority and other organizations for those who wish to enjoy Swaziland's scenic landscape, wonderful climate, and beautiful cities, towns, and villages."

The web site for the Embassy of the Kingdom of Swaziland will be updated regularly with news items, announcements, and a calendar of events.

Visitors to the web site can register to receive email alerts for news, events, and announcements.
