The state will invest a total of LVL 32 million in the development of electronic government services in 2012, Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development Edmunds Sprudzs (Zatlers Reform Party) says in an interview with the Biznes&Baltija newspaper.

In 2013, LVL 16.4 million will be spent on the development of e-government services.

Over the past five years, approximately LVL 35 million was invested in the development of e-government services, writes LETA.

Sprudzs notes that Latvia is among the best countries in Europe regarding the number of e-government services available to residents.

In the future, closer integration of various functions and services is planned, says Sprudzs, adding that more than 100 new e-government services will be introduced in Latvia in 2012.
