Transforming Government since 2001

Zambia launches a Public Service Change Management Framework, accelerating digital transformation for efficient, transparent governance and improved citizen service delivery.

In a significant move to enhance digital transformation and improve service delivery, the Zambian government has launched the Public Service Change Management Framework.

Secretary to the Cabinet, Mr. PATRICK KANGWA, officiated the launch, commending the e-Government Division (SMART Zambia Institute) for its efforts in revolutionizing access to government services through digital means.

Mr. KANGWA highlighted that citizens can now use digital platforms to pay for government services, a significant step towards efficient and corrupt-free service delivery.

He also praised SMART Zambia’s National Coordinator, Mr. PERCY CHINYAMA, for leading the digital transformation agenda.

The launch is part of the government’s efforts to adapt to the evolving landscape of technological innovations and citizen expectations.

Mr. KANGWA has emphasized the need for the civil service to drive development, improve livelihoods, and facilitate private sector growth and job creation.

In a directive aimed at enhancing change, Mr. KANGWA has announced that all Directors and Assistant Directors in the civil service will be put on contracts by February 28, 2025.

Meanwhile, the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) head, Ms. KUSOBILE KAMWAMBI, underscored the importance of the framework, stating that it couldn’t have come at a better time.

Meanwhile, GIZ Zambia country director, Mr. Axel Ulmer, also commended the Zambian government for launching the framework.
