Fujitsu, in collaboration with Myanmar's Ministry of Transport and Communications, is conducting training for government employees to beef up the information and communication technology (ICT) capabilities of the country.
The training began on Monday (16 January 2017) and will run until tomorrow (20 January 2017). A total of 38 government employees from 22 departments will take part in the training.
The training aims to help participants achieve Level 2 in the IT Skills Standard (ITSS) by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Individuals with this qualification can perform assigned tasks under supervision, and possesses the basic IT knowledge and skillset needed to become professional.
It also aims to provide knowledge and skills that employees can use for ICT planning, development, and operations in their own organisations. In line, Fujitsu Learning Media Limited runs training courses with focus on formulating information strategy for e-government, basic ICT training on networks, cybersecurity, and cloud systems, as well as practical methods for developing systems.
In addition, participants will be trained to resolve ICT issues in their workplaces, and set action plans for their own organisations. Fujitsu said that these efforts will equip employees with basic capabilities that will help them become future ICT leaders who will promote e-government and information security.
The second round of ICT training is planned to be conducted from 20 to 24 February 2017.
