Transforming Government since 2001
The vice minister of Information Technologies, Pedro Sebastião Teta has considered the new technologies as key springboard in development of the country.

Addressing Monday in Luanda a Conference on Electronic Government and Private Network of State in Angola, Pedro Teta said that the Angolan government adopted the initiative in 2006.

According to him, the government is engaged in development of mechanisms enabling the achievement of tangible results for the new technology in Angola.

The strategy of e-Government and the Private Network of State comprise the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technologies (MTTI), National Centre of Information Technologies (CNTI), National Institute of Administrative Telecommunications (INATEL), and Huawei, the firm that executes the project.

He also said that the e-government can be turned into a powerful tool in combat poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), under the executive programme.
