The Suomi.fi portal - the one-stop service of the Finnish public administration for citizens - has improved its electronic services, it was announced in early December 2012.

Users’ feedback initiated the update of the portal when it was pointed out some elements and headings that were similar to each other (eServices/My eServices/Citizen’s account) and would therefore create confusion. The purpose of these changes was to make it easier for the users to find the services they need and eventually make Suomi.fi a more user-friendly portal.

Furthermore, the citizen’s account has been moved from the portal’s main navigation to the eServices section. The citizen’s account section will be permanently featured on the homepage of Suomi.fi and it can also be accessed from the pages of those eServices that have been linked to it.

Texts in the interfaces of the eServices section have also been updated and streamlined in order to make it simpler to use various Suomi.fi eServices. These eServices include:

  • The Suomi.fi search engine can be used when looking for an eService or a form.
  • Electronic decisions and notifications on users’ current official applications and transactions are posted to their citizen’s account.
  • Forms that users have previously filled in and sent are stored in the My eServices section.
