Mrs. Karoline Linnert, Senator of Finance of the city-state of Bremen, is pleased with the new centre of excellence for standardisation issues of the public administration: "Our IT professionals have a good reputation. The decision to set Bremen as the base of the coordination centre is a vote of confidence."
The experts will first make proposals to the coordination centre for the efficient processing of data. The centre's plan, which is still under development stage, foresees a further expansion in order to deal with the huge field of tasks relating to IT standardisation in the public administration throughout Germany and, increasingly, throughout the European Union.
Bremen's IT director, Dr. Martin Hagen is confident: "The development of common standards for the collection of administrative data is a lucrative investment, which saves labour time and human resources all over Germany."
