South Korean government has extended financial support of US$ 3.50 million to the government of Nepal for establishing Government Integrated Data and Training Center (GIDTC) in Nepal.

Resident Representative of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Kim Bok-hee, and Executive Director of National Information Technology Centre Subarna Shakya, signed a record of discussions on the GIDTC project on Thursday.

Issuing a press release, KOICA Nepal Office has said through this project, it will support to build infrastructure of e-Government by establishing a government integrated data center in Singha Durbar.

"KOICA will also provide equipment, materials and IT training necessary for the center's operation, and support capacity building in the information communication technology through training programs," says the release. Korean government has extended the support recognizing that bridging of digital divide is one of the most important determinants to alleviate poverty and facilitate sustainable economic growth in the country.
