Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), has become more a tool than a science. The Internet has transformed into an information infrastructure, said IT experts. The very fact that, at present, its global business accounts for $80 billion dollar, itself speaks for its ever-growing network, said IT experts at an interaction programme organised in the capital recently.

They said that the world was getting inter-connected through IT. IT has definitely redefined the way of doing business. Moreover E- commerce and E-governance have played a crucial role in promoting business, they said.

While presenting a paper at a programme organised by the Management Association Nepal(MAN)he described various applications of computer software. �

Presenting the e-transactions facts from India he highlighted that one of the main reason for India's gradual emergence as a super power today is due to its increased indulgence in IT development. He made it clear that Nepal lags behind in the world wide scenario as far as electronic transactions are concerned and a lot of work is yet to be done.

It has drawn attention, but of very few. Legal recognition has also been given but the problem clearly lies in its implementation.

The Nepal Electronic Transaction Ordinance has been formulated for effective implementation of electronic transaction in the country but the concerned authority has not contributed much.�

Rauniyar explained the reasons for the need of law for electronic transactions.

Rauniyar emphasized that electronic transactions and security are inter- related in the absence which, ET may very well create problems.

He shared his view concerning electronic transaction's one of the most important aspect 'Digital Signature'. He stressed on various issues attached to it, its problems and offered some suggestions.
