Money and time saving and more efficient communication with government institutions are greatest benefits for companies-users of USAID-funded eGov Project applications.

Five Government to Business (G2B) Project applications: e-Procurement, e-Tax, Automated System for Management of International Cargo Transport Licenses - CEMT, Single Portal for Export/Import Licenses – EXIM and Online Registration of Employment generally helped in improvement of business climate, image of state and legal regulations.

Such evaluation was presented by Metamorphosis Foundation, which conducted a survey of the impact of the USAID eGov Project activities in FYRMacedonia.

For 87% of respondents the largest benefit from applications is time saving and for 75% it is saving of money followed by more efficient communication with government institutions-67%. Small number of companies stated that e-services helped them in improvement of competitiveness i.e. 47% or in financial situation 37%.

Manager of e-Gov Project Elena Stamatovska said that 72% of respondents concrete e-government services increased the confidence at e-systems and 71% of them assessed that through these applications the process in receiving government services is accelerated.

In annual measurement of sophistication of e-government services using Capgemini methodology, FYRMacedonia achieved significant progress i.e. 9% sophistication in 2004 to 53% this year, Filip Stojanovski from Metamorphosis Foundation said.

The survey encompassed respondents from over 440 companies.
