On the behalf of the US Government, USAID will sign a Cooperation Memorandum with ten Macedonian Municipalities relating use of new software as part of the USAID's E-Government Project.

Introduction of the new software aims to facilitate municipalities' activities, particularly in terms of better transparency and accountability to the citizens, says an official announcement.

The pilot-project entitled "Responsibility through Transparency" will encompass the Municipalities of Resen, Bitola, Stip, Veles, Kocani, Kavadarci, Gostivar, Gazi Baba, Strumica and Skopje. The new software is designed with a principle goal to facilitate the monitoring of the local self-governance and to foster a dialogue between the citizens and councilmen.

The Project is funded by USAID, which operates within the US Mission to Macedonia.
